The man's face was shocked. His mouth is in a gape. He automatically moves away from me like he's scared to be touched by anyone."W-Who are you?" is the first question that came out from his mouth.
I didn't answer and remained looking at him for a minute. He looks scared like I'm going to hurt him when I'm supposed to be the one who should be scared here.
"What are you doing here in the forest?" He threw another question when I didn't answer the first one.
"I ran away from home to search for you." is the only answer I thought of.
I want to say hospital, but I think he'll understand what I mean immediately if I said home. However, the man infront of me blinks and looks at me with confusion.
"Do you know me?" he asked.
I shook my head twice.
"No. I don't actually know you, but you're a vampire, right?" I guessed.
His eyes grew bigger.
"How did you know that I'm a vampire in just a glance?"
Come to think of it, I can't see his fangs showing. The color of his eyes are normal and he doesn't have any blood stains on his cloak. Wait, I won't really see any blood stains on him because he is wearing a dark red cloak!
It's really questioning why I suddenly thought of him—more like accused him as a vampire. Is it because…?
"It's because you're handsome…" the words came out from my mouth normally.
I saw him get caught off guard by what I said and he looked down to avoid my eyes.
"T-Thanks for the compliment," he muttered.
He looks very shy.
It's now my turn to blink and look at him with a confused look. Why is he acting like that? Have I just mistaken him as a vampire? I never thought that a vampire could be this shy. He looks fragile too.
I didn't remove my eyes from him until he looked at me again and spoke.
"You're right, I'm a vampire. So you should stay away from me and go back to your home." he stated after a few moment.
I ignored the last sentence he said and only focused on the first one. So I got it right. He just admitted that he's a vampire.
I took a step forward, he instantly stepped backwards. With a wide smile, I took another step closer to him.
"If that's so, can I have a request before I leave? Please drink my blood." I said.
He got flabbergasted by my request.
"I'm sorry, I don't think I can understand what you are saying," he replied.
He got it backwards though.
"I'm the one who can't understand you at all. You are a vampire, so why are you acting like you're not? You should at least look scary and intimidating, right?"
Instead of looking scary and intimidating, he looks gentle, sincere and trustworthy. Even though we just met for the first time, I can feel that he is also genuine. The way he talks is gentle. He doesn't seem dangerous. He seems comfortable to be with like when you are with him, you would feel safe.
"I don't want to scare anyone." he answered using his soft voice as he looked down.
There's a moment of silence between us. I still want to talk to him and I actually have a lot of questions to ask, but I remained quiet and only waited for him to break the silence between us.
