After the man told me that I don't need to befriend him, none of us talk again.

He already finished eating the fish and he washed his hand on the river before he stood up and started to walk—I guess he is going to the well he mentioned earlier.

What a pity.

He could have just drunk my blood if he's thirsty. I don't want to be left there alone so my feet move to follow him. He walks slowly like he has all the time in the world. I followed him silently.

When he noticed that I was following him, he stopped walking and turned to look at me. I halted from walking as well and stood there like a lost kid.

"You don't have to follow me," he said. "I told you, you should return to your home." he added, making me blink.

"But I'm not familiar with this forest, and I think I'm lost." I replied with a frown.

"Try to remember it."

Hearing what he said made me frown even more.

Why does he keep on telling me to go home? Did he really want me to get lost from his sight? I can't just go back now. Even if I remember the way out of this forest, I already used all of my money so I still can't go home tonight.

"I hate to admit it, but I'm scared of darkness." I told him as I looked down, hoping that he'll get pity towards me and let me come with him.

"I have a weak heart so I might faint anywhere. I want to stick with you because at least you can help me if I ever faint. But if you don't want me to tag along with you, then I'm going to leave now."

I turned my back to him and began walking slowly. I was expecting that he would stop me and give me permission to come with him, but he didn't say anything and also continued walking.

Out of all the vampires that I could meet here, why did I meet a vampire who hates drinking human blood?

I was so happy that I finally saw a vampire and I'm thankful that he's not a bad vampire who kills humans, but he doesn't want to drink my blood so it's really a pity. I thought I would be immortal after the end of this day.

We both walk in separate ways and he looks like he doesn't really want me to come with him so I decided to just walk back to the river. Because it's dark, I didn't see the way clearly so I tripped and fell down on the river.

I shiver when the cold water consumes more than half of my body.

I wanna hit myself for being careless.

Nothing works right.

Now I started regretting going to this forest rather than staying at the hospital. If I didn't run away then I would be probably sleeping peacefully on my hospital bed right now.

This is the consequence I get for being a hard headed daughter and a bad patient.

Just when I was about to stand up, I saw a hand in front of me offering for help. When I looked at the owner of it, I was surprised to see the vampire who wanted me to get lost earlier.

I can't believe he's already standing in front of me right now. Did he come back here because he's worried about me? I thought he wanted me to get lost? What is he doing here now?

Thinking that he came back because he's worried about me makes me happy.

"You can tag along if you want. Just don't faint or fall anywhere." he said.

My lips slowly curve into a smile.

He's finally giving me permission to come with him. I'll stay with him for a while until he brings me to another vampire, or until I finally convince him to drink my blood.

I know that it won't be easy to convince him, but there might be a time where he can't help but to drink human blood so I'll wait for that time to come before I go back home.

I accepted his hand and he guided me to stand up.

After getting off the river, I smiled at him before saying thank you. He shakes his head gently.

"You don't need to thank me. I can't just let you wander in this forest alone because you are still a girl. We'll go to the well later, but first, we need to do something with your clothes…" he said.

I look at my clothes, it's soaking wet. I hug myself as the wind blows and the coldness embraces me.

"That's fine, I have another pair of clothes inside my backpack." I informed him.

I roamed my eyes, searching for a perfect place where I can change clothes without being seen.

He immediately understood my gesture so he told me that I can change my clothes where I'm standing right now and he'll just turn his back and shut both of his eyes.

I smiled because I felt like I didn't need to worry about anything because he's the one who's here with me right now.

Just like what I said earlier, he seems trustworthy and I ironically felt comfortable with him.

He might be weird, but he's actually nice.

After he closed his eyes and turned around, I grabbed the clothes inside my backpack and changed.

"Can I ask you another question?" I asked.

"Have you finished changing your clothes?" He answered me with another question.

"Not yet, but I'm almost done." I replied.

"What is your question?"

I wear the shorts and a plain navy blue t-shirt before throwing him the question inside my head.

"Why do you need to go to the well?"

I noticed that he's been mentioning it since earlier. He might have another reason why he needs to go there.

"I want to drink water. Just so you know, I get thirsty too."

"You could just drink my blood if you are thirsty." I told him in segue. I saw the back of his head move from left to right.

"Not gonna happen." he said firmly.

I pouted my lips.

Drinking blood is like drinking an expensive wine for vampires. However, I understand him because water is still tastier when it comes to quenching someone's thirst.

"But there's water here at the river too. Why don't you just drink here?"

"I drink clean water. And I really need to go to the well because I left something important there."

I already finished changing clothes so I walked towards him and poke his shoulder twice.

"Are you finished?" he asked.

"Yes." I replied.

He waited for 5 seconds before he finally turned his back and looked at me.

"What is that important thing you left there, by the way?" I asked again. Though I can't understand why he needed to leave it there when he just called it, 'something important'.

"You'll know once we get there," he told me plainly. I nod my head and smile.

What important to me right now is that he finally gave me permission to come with him.

He started to walk so I also began walking beside him.

We walk together while the moon and stars shine brightly above the night sky.
