When we reached the destination of the well, the vampire immediately drank the water there. It was a deep well so he needed to scoop the water below using a small pail and a long rope. I remember reading from a book that groundwater is clean and safe to drink. No wonder why he likes drinking here.
On the ground near the well, I saw him picking something there and showed it to me. I think it's the important thing he told me he left earlier.
My eyes sparkled when I saw that it was a book.
I immediately walked towards him and asked if I could hold it. When he agreed, I held the book with my hand and read the title.
"A.G.E"
I opened the book on the first page but there's nothing written there. I continued opening it to the next five pages but all I could see was blank.
Why is there nothing written here?
"I left that book because there's nothing written inside and I can't read it. But the person who gave that to me said that I should keep that book safe so I considered that book important."
I nodded my head to tell him that I understand what he said. I wanted to ask who gave this book to him, but I asked a different question instead.
"Did you think of throwing it before?"
He hesitantly nodded his head.
"I did, but I won't get anything if I throw it away so I decided to just keep it."
He has a point there.
"What if we cast a magic spell or say a magic word? Maybe the book would reveal its own story if we do it! Have you tried it already?" I questioned.
He shook his head twice.
"No, I haven't tried doing it yet,"
I want to ask him if he wants to try doing it now, but I don't want to give him false hope so I just give the book back to him and scratch my temple using my fore finger.
"Actually, let's just forget doing that. There's a reason why this book is blank. If it will reveal its story, then it will reveal on its own." I said and smiled.
The slight smile on his face tells me that he did get my point.
"You might be tired and sleepy now. You can lean on the well and sleep. That's what I always do. You can sleep on this side, and I'll sleep on that side. Just shout if you need something or if you are scared. I'll come to help you."
I'm not actually sleepy, but he looks like he wants to take a rest so I listened to what he said and leaned my back on the well.
Surprisingly, that position is comfortable even though I'm not lying down. I wonder if the well has some magic that calms and relaxes me.
I never felt this calm and peaceful in my entire life.
The man is already at the other side of the well. I can't see him but I'm not scared because I know that he's just there and he will never do anything bad to me.
I closed my eyes.
Tomorrow, I'll try to think of a way to convince him to drink my blood. For now, I'll take a rest and have a peaceful sleep.
"Goodnight, Mr. Vampire," I told him after a couple of minutes.
He didn't answer. It seems he was shocked by what I just called him.
"Mr. Vampire?" he asked in disbelief.
I chuckled.
I didn't have any plan to explain to him why I called him that. I thought he wouldn't speak again, but he did.
"Well, goodnight too, Ms. Human." He speaks softly.
My smile widened even more.
At the end of the night, our weird encounter ended up peacefully.

Galen's POV
The next day, the human girl still keeps on following me. I reminded her to go home and I also said that I would guide her out of the forest, but she said she'll stick with me.
She follows me everywhere I go. I just let her to do it. Not that she'll listen to me if I told her to stay away though.
When I heard her tummy rumble, I tiptoed and picked a fresh peach on the tree for her to eat. She didn't want to accept it at first, and told me she's not hungry, but I still continued to convince her to eat it.
"A mouth can lie, but a hungry stomach can never lie. Humans need to eat every day because if they don't eat, they will die."
Even a vampire like me eats everyday because food is what keeping everyone strong and healthy. I need to have a strong body to find my sister.
"If I listen to you and eat this, can you listen to me as well and drink my blood?" She asked.
I looked at her with a blank face and remained silent.
She's not done with that yet? She keeps on asking me to drink her blood since last night.
I don't drink human blood because I don't want to hurt any human. That's been always on my mind even before I turned vampire. Hurting humans has never been in my vocabulary.
"Mister, please turn me into a vampire like you," the girl told me while clasping both of her hands together.
I sighed and shook my head several times.
"Not gonna happen."
She frowned and didn't speak to me anymore.
Minutes have passed, the rain starts to fall down.
We're both staring at the rain while sheltering on a small peach tree.
Her face looks gloomy unlike earlier.
"What's the problem?" I asked her when I noticed her sudden change of mood.
She might not like the taste of the peach I picked for her. I can pick a different fruit for her if she doesn't like it.
"I just feel melancholic whenever I'm looking at the rain." she stated.
I stare at her face for a while. She doesn't seem to be lying. A minute has passed, the tears on her eyes began tempting to fall down.
Seeing someone's tears has always been my weakness. Whenever I see someone crying, I can't just ignore them so I walk in front of her to get her attention. Now, all of her focus is only on me.
"You are stupid. If looking at the rain makes you sad, why do you still keep on looking at it?"
I thought she would finally stop crying once I successfully diverted her attention from the rain, but she looks like she wanted to cry even more when she looked at me.
Is it because I called her stupid?
"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you stupid. If you're hurt because of it, you can also call me stupid and-"
I didn't get to continue my words when her eyes shut closed and she suddenly fell on my shoulder.
With a surprised look, I immediately tapped her shoulder to wake her up, but she didn't respond to me so I guessed she have fainted.
I remember when she told me last night that she has a weak heart. When she told me that, I actually thought of Shira. Shira has a weak body and this human girl has a weak heart. They both look fragile so they need someone to protect them.
For a couple of minutes, I let her stay in that position and waited for the rain to calm a bit before I carried her on my back and brought her to a cave where we can both shelter.
I hope she'll feel better when she wake up. I'll also ask for her forgiveness later for calling her stupid.
