Today's the day, the day Alex will confess his feelings to Audrey and form a new bond with her. He just hopes that it won't end up poorly like his relationship with Ashley. He immediately ran out of the house and went off to buy a bouquet of flowers, he looks at the bouquet with joy seeing the flowers give off a colorful and lively display, the fragrance wafting to his nose making him feel calm and relaxed.
Alex shortly arrived at the park 30 minutes later, barely 20 minutes early for his confession. He sat down on a bench to catch his breath, he sat there for a good 5 minutes worth of rest before standing up and proceeding to go to the center of the park.
Ashley arrived at the park a minute later than Alex and immediately saw him getting up to go to his meeting place with Audrey. She runs after him trying to close the distance between them.
"Alex! Wait!" Ashley calls out to him as she reaches out with an outstretched hand.
Alex turned and saw Ashley, his expression turning dull and sour upon seeing her.
"What is it now Ashley? If you have something to say to me, better make it quick. I have to do something really important." Alex said in a dismissive tone.
"Alex, hear me out, please. I want to fix everything between us! Please give me a chance!" Ashley pleads with a desperate and longing gaze.
Alex sighed, knowing Ashley's persistence he couldn't do anything else other than to oblige. He tries to turn and leave but Ashley held him tightly with a strong grip as she looks at him with a possessive stare.
"Alex......please..listen to me..." Ashley said in a hollow tone, tears threatening to flow from her eyes.
Alex saw the pain in her gaze, he saw the longing and desperation, his expression softened as he gently shook her hand off his arm.
"Alright Ashley, I'll listen to what you're gonna say. Just make it short please?" Alex complied to her pleas, making Ashley light up a little in response.
"Thank you Alex...I know things haven't been going well between the two of us...." Ashley said in a low voice, Alex hummed in response.
"And I know that I messed up so badly...." Ashley paused for a moment as tears are threatening to escape her eyes, Alex patted her shoulder to ease her.
"I should've listened to you Alex, I wish that I wasn't so damn stupid to ignore and leave you there.....you have every right to be mad at me and I am willing to accept that. But I can't accept us growing distant from each other...." Ashley held his hands as Alex listens attentively, he alows her to hold his hands seeing her distressed state.
"I hate myself for being an absolute moron. I left you, my oldest and greatest friend, my only true friend. Alex, I am sorry for being a useless, ignorant, pathetic little bitc-" Ashley was then interrupted by Alex who placed his finger on her lips as he looks at her with a gentle and welcoming expression.
