Joan's POV
We all thought for a moment about what we could do. We needed to go and find John and George, but we couldn't really let Paul and Ringo out of the house until we were a bit more sure about ourselves, and how to keep them four of them hidden.
"Well, how about one of us goes to find them, and the others will stay home with these two?" Jude suggested, pointing rudely at Paul and Ringo, who were looking at a little ornament that was on a chest of drawers, trying to find anything to amuse themselves with.
"Yeah, but who'll go?" I asked, Jude and Julia looked at each other and both shook their heads. I knew they wanted to stay after all of the looks the four of them had been giving each other, so I guess it was only fair that I went. Maybe I'd have a shot with John or George.
"I'll go then, just make sure they don't see any of the posters or anything, take them down before they go in your room." I nagged them.
"Yes mum, now go find them, we are in a hurry here." She reminded me. I turned around, saying goodbye, and practically flew down the stairs and out the door, through the neatly paved garden. I stopped in the gateway to have a look around. Luckily, Jude lived in a close, so it wasn't difficult to guess which way they'd gone. After a couple of minutes of walking in that direction, I noticed a figure in the distance sitting by the side of the road. It was difficult to tell who it was from that far, but I could clearly see a moptop. The thing that took me by surprise was that he wasn't alone. A little girl about six was standing in front of him, blonde hair innocently falling over her shoulders. I ran up to them as fast as I could, trying in the meantime to spot the other missing Beatle, with no luck.
"Heather!" I yelled, picking her up from behind and moving her away from the man who was tightly clenching himself into a ball by the side of the road. She frowned from behind me.
"But George looked sad..." She mumbled. I could always rely on my little sister to try and be like me, being able to spot a Beatle walking down the street was just her way of saying she was going to grow up to be an obsessive fangirl, just like her big sister.
I had no idea how George ended up outside my house, I'm guessing Heather just stopped him there to try and cheer him up, but he had to go before my parents saw us talking to strange men.
"Yes, but I've told you before about talking to strangers. And George, we told you to stay in the house. I know it must be hard to hear, but it happens to everyone eventually." I sat down next to him on the curb.
"Yeah, but you never really think about it do you... It just gives you a feeling of mortality." He sighed, lifting his head up a little.
"George, trust me you are immortal. You live in the hearts of people all across the universe. You're one of the six most famous people in the whole of cultural history."
"Six?" He asked wearily. Clearly my cheering him up wasn't helping.
"Yeah, you four, Elvis, and me, when I become rich and famous." I giggled. I often found that laughter was the best way to cheer someone up, so by being happy he would join in. It didn't really work that well.
"How do you plan to do that then?" He played along, but it was probably just to humour me. At least he was speaking though.
"Well, I'm gonna marry into money, and then build up an empire from there." I was being all dramatic with my hands, and trying to describe a huge life to him, but he seemed a bit zoned out. His deep brown eyes were glazed over, and his normally healthy pink skin was pale and sickly. He looked even more like a vampire. If he'd just smile he'd have the teeth as well. It was adorable.
"You can have my money if you want. I'm not gonna use it all." He sighed, burying his face back into his knees. When he was like that it was incredible how long and thin his arms and legs looked.
"Well, I said I wanted to marry into money, I'd never argue with marrying George Harrison. What do you think Heather? The new Joan Harrison." Heather giggled as well, sitting down in front of us. She was such a lovely little girl, and I knew I could depend on her when it came to cheering people up.
"Well, you can marry me if you like, but its hard to avoid the press." He smirked a little as well. I had done it, finally! He was smiling again, and I'd just flirted with a Beatle. My day was going well, but we still had one issue to deal with.
"Do either of you know where John went?" I asked after a second of silence, which was only filled by a slight blush by me, letting the conversation we'd just had soak in. George shook his head, but pointed down the road again.
"He looked annoyed though, so he must've gone to cheer up." Heather suggested.
"What does John do to cheer up? I'm guessing he's not a casual walk in the park kind of person." I asked George, who thought for a minute.
"Music has always cheered John up. Maybe a record store, or a street performer." He suggested. It was worth a try I supposed. I said goodbye to Heather, and made sure she told my parents i was staying at Judes. Then came the hard part. Then we had to find John.
