In the early 1600s an evil witch once terrorised Floptropica. Her name was Tophiussy Chu. She used to practice the dark arts in an attempt to subdue the Floptropican people. In 1634, Chu began to plot the demise of Queen Cherylussy who was an advocate of Jiafeism and was the leader of the great purges of those who practiced the dark arts. Tophiussy Chu managed to curse a Rose Toy which she presented to Queen Cherylussy during her birthday celebrations. Although the curse was effective in taking the life of the Queen, Chu was convicted and sentenced to be burnt to death at the stake.
While she burnt, she proclaimed the following "ALL THOSE WHO USE A ROSE TOY IN FLOPTROPICA FROM THIS HOUR ONWARDS SHALL SUFFER THE MOST GRUESOME OF FATES. DEATH FROM THE HIGHEST FORM OF SUFFERING SHALL PLAGUE ALL WHO USE THE ROSE TOY."
Since then, grizzly deaths have occurred from the usage of un-blessed rose toys in Floptropica.
