"Ruth, you will be going home tomorrow. So pack your stuff for that," Professor Dumbledore approached me during breakfast to tell me.
"I don't have anyone to go home to! Why can't I stay here?" protesting, I put down my mango and looked at him.
"Your brothers funeral will be held on the 12 of the month. You have to go home for it," I nodded and excused myself from the table. "Its going to be a large event, Ministry workers, old friends from Hogwarts, family, and some of your friends. You cannot miss it,"
"Nor do I plan to," I sighed, irritated. My eyes began to water and I got to a bathroom on the first floor before I began to sob in public. There were other sounds of sobs in the bathroom coming from what sounded like Myrtle.
"Come to tease me?" she poked her head out of the stall and pouted. My patience was lost and I couldn't hold back my next statement.
"Filthy little mud blood! Deal with it, people are going to tease you!" it only set her off more and I promptly left the bathroom before I get caught in there with her. Subconsciously, I ran to Professor Dippets office, "The Golden Snidget," was his password and the eagle began to rise along with the staircase. Hopping on before it got to far, I didn't end up having to walk up the stairs at all. The door to his office swung open automatically for me to see Professor Dippet and Tom talking. "Oh! Ruth, lovely to see you! Would you like to sit with us and talk over a cup of chai? Its quite good, really!"
"No thank you, Headmaster, perhaps this is the wrong time?" as i timidly backing out of the room, he laughed and motioned for me to come in and sit down next to Tom.
"I suspect Professor Dumbledore has told you of the funeral being held at the Evans house?"
"Yes, I have to go back with the rest... I don't think that-" my lips shut tight before anything I would regret escaped my lips and left the room to pack up for the trip home.

The house was eerily silent, not a sound was to be heard, not even a rat in the corner. In short, the house was dead inside. Everything was still, the portraits were all gone and the air was still. I carried in my trunk and set it in the hall, expecting for someone to come running to me and embracing me, but nobody came. Out of nostalgia, I traveled up the flights of stairs to my brothers room, where I found it even stiller than the rest of the house.
Nothing had changed, the walls were still as white as can be, the mahogany flooring without a speck of dust covering it, and his bed sheet was untouched since the last time it was made. Everything was just as he would have left it, besides a book sitting on the bed, stuffed with papers and notes of all sorts.
The book was black leather with an intricate flower design stamped all over the front. I ran my fingers over the complextion of it and carefully opened it, trying to keep the notes from falling out and onto the floor.
Robert,
It's been a while since we last heard from each other. I know how it's becoming more difficult to hide this, but I need to talk to you face to face, or at least be able to hear your voice. I have no ideas that could help us with this... perhaps you would? It's about Ruth... something is happening.
~Cassidy
My head swam, what could this mean? "I know, I loved Robert," I shook it off and sat down on the chair near by and continued to read the scraps of parchment stuffed into the book.
