18. So Silly of You

The leather bound diary was freezing at the touch, odd for a book, usually the pages kept it all warm. "Lumos,"my wand lit up with a blue light and I drew the curtains on my four poster, leaving me alone with the book. My heart beat erratically, my hands shook, and I bit my lip in anticipation of what would lie within the pages. I flipped open to the first page, which was just filled with scribbles and random letters, no real writing could be found in the first thirty pages either.

September 1st

So silly of me, the aspiring powerful wizard writing in a diary like a little girl! The "psychiatrist"  said that I needed to write in it, that it would comfort me. I believe they are all fools, I'm not mad, they think I am. Today I'm going back to Hogwarts for the last time, it's my last year. It'll be refreshing to get out of this hell hole again, I was given the rather high position of Head Boy. Professor Dippet told me that I specifically stood out to him in the selection process because of my outstanding grades. He also informed me that the head girl would be Ruth Evans, I have never spared her a hello, for I don't have time for girls, such a waste of time if you ask me... however, she isn't terrible looking and definitely not horrible at spells, second best in charms, right under me.

The muggles are foolish, there has been more news of Hitler and the "second world war", he has fallen from power. In the muggle newspaper it revealed what he had been doing in Germany and Poland. He had been killing off the Jewish people because he thinks that they are the source of Germany's problems. Jewish people are like the mudbloods of the muggle world, they are dirty rats that have no business in our world. Hitler had killed 6 million jewish people, it's a brilliant idea, really, to exterminate that race, it gives me ideas for my reign as Lord Voldemort. How ridiculous, I shouldn't write in this diary, it's so... baby like.

I remember the reign of Hitler, many said it was awful, and it was. Every day muggles would ask us to join the army to help us fight off the Nazi's and restore peace. Honestly, I didn't find a problem with them, they were just killing off the dirty bloods. Perhaps it was bad, I didn't have much education on the subject.

November 12

I've effectively pissed off Ruth Evans, it's not safe to be on her rotten side, she's crucial for information. I honestly don't understand why I write in this silly thing but it works in a way, I've placed some protective spells on it as soon as I got to Hogwarts so that nobody can read any of this. What will writing in this leather book do for me? I don't care anymore. It was Ruth's fault anyway, she followed me to that ruddy closet. It's getting difficult to make her a follower, she won't even use the bloody name, and she won't call me the "dark lord" I have no idea why I'm even trying.

He wanted me as a follower? Authors note: WHAT IS THIS??? TWITTER or INSTAGRAM? end of WN how dare he! I wasn't one to follow anyone, I was a leader, not a wimpy follower. He wouldn't be able to get me either way, not with his raven hair, not with is piercing eyes and not with his amazing kisses. Listen to me, gushing like a little girl.

"What are you reading?" Mary yanked a curtain open, she stood in her pink ruffle pajamas, her ginger hair was messed up and her eyebrow was arched, she put her hand out for the book.

"It's my diary, can't a girl have one?" I shut the book and stuffed it under my pillow again. "It's like I can't write in it without all of you interrupting!" lying became easier each time I did it, now it was a breeze, as if I didn't even have to think about it anymore. Was this how actors felt?

"I didn't know you had a diary, why? I've known you for seven years now and never seen you to need to write in one. Why now?" Mary plopped down on my bed a crossed her arms stubbornly.
