Hello,
I'm Mariya. Many of you may know me from awards and judging. I've done a lot of that in the past.
I'll tell you a little about myself before we get started. I'm in my early twenties and found my passion for writing just about two years ago, wrote probably way too much, and ended up with the series I have on Wattpad at the moment.
I'm a bit of a grammar freak, though that doesn't mean I don't make mistakes. There are things about proper mechanics that I'm still learning too. I haven't taken an English course aside from the several I had in college while on my way to another degree. That being said, English, Spelling, and punctuation are interests of mine, and I've written quite a few formal papers on evidence-based practice etc., so I do like to think I have a fairly strong handle on mechanics.
I've hosted five awards on here, written a series and several spin-offs, done a lot of voluntary "editing" for others, and have those basic English and writing classes under my belt. That's the experience I have.
My pet peeves are improper comma usage, authors that don't fix their grammar mistakes, and those who use "loose" instead of "lose" (that will be the first topic).
If you haven't met me yet, that's about all you need to know. I like to keep my personal and Wattpad lives separate.
If you have questions or suggestions for topics you'd like to see in this book, do comment here. Otherwise, I'm happy to see (or 'hear') you in the comments.
Happy reading!
Mariya
P.S. That's a real picture of me.
