𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 — 𝑔𝑟𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦
AFTER SURFING THE following morning, Leilani and Scout drove over to the Chateau to test out the drone. She wore a pair of denim shorts and a purple tank top, one of JJ's hooded sweatshirts over top of it. Leilani had her long hair double dutch braided into a knot at the base of her neck, some of her bracelets on her wrists. The group was on the dock, Pope setting up the drone, John B preparing to go into the water with JJ beside him. Kie had yet to arrive.
Leilani sent smiles to John B and JJ, both of whom looked exhausted and set herself down beside Pope to get the equipment ready. Scout barked and jumped into the water, making Leilani smile. Scout loved the ocean just as much as Leilani. Kiara arrived as Scout found a stick, swimming it over to John B. He and Kie quickly got in the water as Leilani gently dropped the drone into it, rejoining Pope.
JJ dropped a small tub of surf wax into Leilani's lap, seeing her face light up as she saw what it was. "You got me a whole container?" Leilani asked, unscrewing the top of the wax.
JJ shrugged. "Yeah." he said, and Leilani smiled.
"J, this stuff is expensive." Leilani said, but JJ brushed her off.
"Don't worry about it. I got you the strawberry one." JJ said, Leilani putting the container to her nose in inhale the soft scent.
"You like strawberry surf wax?" Pope questioned, and Leilani nodded, closing the cap and placing the tub at her feet.
"It smells good with the salt water," Leilani reasoned, looking up at JJ, who stood behing her, shyly. "Thank you." she said, and JJ nodded.
Once Leilani and Pope got the program for the drone set up, they turned the camera on, revealing the faces John B and Kie were making under water. JJ hovered between Leilani and Pope's shoulders. "What's this right here?" he asked, his finger moving towards one of the keys.
"Don't touch that." Pope said firmly, swatting JJ's hand away. Leilani chuckled as Scout swam into the frame, bubbles exiting his mouth as he barked.
"We're trying to work this thing out." Leilani said, gently pushing JJ back with her arm.
Leilani moved the drone over to to Kie, her fingers directing it as Pope worked on the frames and angles. "God bless geeks. Truly, man." JJ said, and Leilani's brows furrowed.
"I am not a geek." she said, looking back at JJ, offended.
"Yes, you are. But seriously, what would we do without you two to control the drones?" JJ said as Kie, Scout and John B surfaced, walking over to the dock railing.
