Boimler pov
I let go of her hand immediately and looked away blushing like a storm; I heard grunting, so I knew she was trying to get off the bed, so I forced her softly back into the bed since she was still recovering; and she giggled. "I'm fine Boimler, I'm pretty sure I can stand." she looked at me with a smile "Dr T'Ana wants you to stay put for the day, so she can keep an eye on you." I sit back onto the stool and look at her. She groaned and looked up at the ceiling "what are you, my father?" She laughed at her own joke, and I smiled looking down. "I'm just looking out for you; your just like Mariner when it comes to being in sick bay, she just wants to leave right away." I look at her and she shrugs.
After a moment of silence Mariner and Rutherford walk into the sick bay and sit with us. "Mariner told me what happened, are you ok?" Rutherford asked looking at (l/n). "Yeah, I'll be fine; just one day in sick bay and I'll be back to old self in no time." Tendi walked into the group and sat next to Rutherford. We chatted for a bit before Mariner coughed to get our attention. "I would like to tell you all that I booked a 6-hour timeframe in the holodeck tomorrow, so we can all relax for the day." We smiled and started chatting about what we were going to do. "I think we should go somewhere tropical." Rutherford suggests and we all agree. Mariner starts making a list on her pad about what we should do in a tropical place: Tendi suggests swimming, Rutherford suggests sandcastles, I suggest reading, Mariner suggests we do a swim race, and (l/n) suggests we just relax.
After a while, we all agree to do whatever we want when we enter the holodeck tomorrow and just have fun. (l/n) giggles and chats with Tendi who's sitting on the bed with her, she's so beautiful her (h/c) and her perfect smile. Right as I was starting daydreaming Mariner tapped me on my shoulder.
"someone's smiling more than usual." I blush to the sight of it and sigh "I'm fine Mariner." She giggles and goes back to talking with Rutherford.
As I was starting to daydream again, I felt my pad buzz; when I opened my pad, I saw that my girlfriend Barbara messaged me. She's helping us with an upcoming mission soon, so it's going to be nice to see her again; she doesn't work on the Cerritos so it's going to be nice. I replied back quickly with a smile on my face and realized that (l/n) was talking to Dr T'Ana and was given a needle. "There we go, if you have any issues just head back here and I can see what we do." She nodded "Thanks doc." Dr T'Ana nodded and left us be.
"Alright since (l/n) is healed, why don't we head to bar and just hang out?" Mariner suggested and we all nodded. On our way to the bar, we ran into commander Ransom just leaving his office. He paused when he sees (l/n), I'm sure he felt guilty since Shax probably told him what happened. "Ensign (l/n), I want to apologize for what I did; I don't remember what happened, but I was told it was terrible." (l/n) looked at him and smiled. "Apologize accepted commander, I understand that you didn't mean for it to happen." she held out her hand and he took it "thanks." she nodded, and he walked away.
"You're really going to forgive him that easy?!?!??!" Mariner pushed me aside to scold her. "He didn't mean too, during the way to the mission; Boimler said that there was some creature that people can't see." She paused for a moment and looked at her. "Maybe it was that if you really think about it." Mariner stops in her tracks just to look at (l/n) I shock, I move back to my original spot and laugh. We reach the turbo lift and make our way up to the bar and the turbo lift stops and the lights turn off.
"Turbo lift emergency stop"
Y/n pov:
I woke up dead in my tracks, stuck... I looked over to see Boimler start to panic, Mariner tried to force the doors open, and Rutherford couldn't get his communicator to work. After a few moments Boimler sat down and I followed after, Mainer rested against my shoulder while Tendi and Rutherford tried to find the issue. "Without my tools I can't fix this." Rutherford sighed and sat back. "well... now what do we do?" I looked over at Boimler and he sighed "I don't know, the last time we were stuck in the Turbo lift Rutherford was able to contact people." I look over at Rutherford breaking a latch still trying to find the issue. "well, what can we do to pass the time?" the moment I said that Mariner perked her head up. "we could... huh. what could we do?" Mariner sighed of boredom and rests her head in my lap, Boimler taps his finger on the floor, Tendi is laying on her back in the middle of the lift, Rutherford still has his face in the control panel, and I look up at the roof of the lift.
"this might sound stupid but can you put me on your shoulders?" he jolts his head up and tilts his head. "why?" I point up at the latch. He nods while a shake Mariner off my shoulder and stood up. Boimler crotched and allowed me to get on his shoulder, he stood up holding my knees/lower thigh. "I'm not too heavy, am I?" I look down at him and he looks up at me. "You're all good (l/n)." I nodded and tried to open the latch but was unsuccessful. "Shoot it won't open." Boimler sighed and let me off his shoulders; and Mariner replies "Looks like were stuck here till someone realizes the turbo lift is broken." she sits down and closes her eyes. Tendi started having a thumb war with Rutherford, Boimler played with his hair, Mariner kept complaining non-stop, and I just sat there in silence. After a few moments of silence, I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep.
Boimler pov
I looked over at (l/n) to see her sound asleep, Shes probably still tired after spending her day in sick bay; like everyone usually is. Mariner crawled over to her; laid her head in her lap and fell asleep. Tendi and Rutherford followed and cuddle up next to them. I sighed and took a photo on my pad with a smile on my face, before inviting myself in the pile to sleep. I looked at the photo and saw (l/n) smiling, I looked at her making sure I wasn't hallucinating but; she was smiling in her sleep. I rested my head on Mariner's lap and closed my eyes for just a moment before I bang started to happen on the door of the turbo lift. I felt (l/n) flinch to the point it got everyone off her, Mariner got her fits ready to fight whoever was banging on the door.
(l/n) was basically holding onto Tendi's arm for dear life when I looked over to see how her, Tendi, and Rutherford were handing it. I looked back at the door to see a hand peeking through the gap between the two doors. "Wait a sec-" I tried to tell Mariner to calm down before the door opened completely to see Lieutenant Shax in the doorframe with Lieutenant Billups. Mariner put her fists down and leans against me, while (l/n) calms down from her close call heart attack with Tendi by her side to rub her back.
"Sorry for the long wait folks the whole ship lost power, but we don't exactly know how though." Lieutenant Billups walks into the turbo lift and checks the panel that Rutherford had already opened to try and fix. We all walk out of the lift and head towards out bunks, thank God we emergency stopped on the deck where our bunks are; I'm pretty sure Mariner would accept defeat and slept in the hall. But every so often (l/n) would stop in her tracks and look behind her.
(y/n) pov:
We start walking down the halls to our bunks, but every time we pasted a wall with a screen attached to it; I felt like something was watching me. But whenever I looked at the screen, I saw completely nothing. I shrugged it off since every time Boimler would tilt his head giving me the "Is everything ok?" look. I nodded every time he gave me the look, but I'm sure he believed it less and less. It took me and Boimler a few moments before we realized that Tendi, Rutherford, and Mariner walked off without us; leaving me and Boimler alone.
"Are you sure you're ok (l/n)? You seem off and uncomfortable." Boimler asks me looking more concerned than he normally was early. I sigh in response and look over to the screen to see badgey flying around on it messing with the screen a bit. The moment I point at it he vanished making me look crazy. "There's nothing there (l/n), are you sure you don't want to head back to sick bay?" I look at him and smile. "I'm fine Boimler." I start walking towards the bunks with him following right after. We finally reach our bunks, so I slipped into my shorts and tank top, and entered my bunk slowly after Boimler; unable to rest after that encounter with Badgey. "What is he doing outside my pad?!?!?!". I roll onto my left side to face the inside of my bunk; and slowly drift off to sleep. At least were relaxing in the holodeck tomorrow.
