(L/n) pov

I woke up to Mariner shaking me awake with her duffel bag hanging on her shoulder, she spoke. "Rise and shine sleepy beauty, we have a mission to go on." I groaned, checked the time: 1400.. I slept in more than I wanted, rolled out of my bunk, and got changed praying that the mission would be canceled. I love my village and family but there's a reason I felt, I just hope when I arrive, I'm treated like everyone else on this mission. I put my boots on and saw Mariner put something in my duffle bag. "What are you putting in my bag?" She closed it up and tried to act like she was doing nothing before answering my question. "Nothing, just making sure you have everything needed." I rolled my eyes for reply showing her I didn't believe what she said, but I didn't ask her again. Mariner gave me my duffle bag and walked me down the halls towards the transporter bay.

As we walked through the halls Mariner was reading the mission brief, so she wouldn't have to listen Ransom could say it to us before we beamed down. We reached the transporter bay and saw the ensigns who would be joining us, the people who caught my attention were Fletcher, Jennifer, Jet (Manhaver), and Tendi. Mariner screamed with joy. "Tendi! You're also going on the mission!". Tendi smiled and spoke. "Yes, I am, they need two medical staff to beam down; and doctor T' Ana asked if me and nurse Westlake to go." She pointed to the male nurse who waved at us with a small smile. The other two was a female engineer with short brown hair, and spots; the other was a male speaking with jet, I'm assuming he's also in same division as Jet. I think Jet was in engineering, but I believe he changed careers and became security; from what I've heard around the Cerritos.

Mariner and I stood by Jennifer and Fletcher just in time before lieutenant commander Billups and commander Ransom showed up. Mariner sighed and laid her head on my shoulder when commander Ransom started speaking.

"So, as you can all tell; this is a small group for this three-day mission. If we are finished earlier than expected, that means we can leave sooner. This mission is for us to fix their communication and a bunch of side jobs they dropped on us. We will tell you ahead of time; this village is sometimes unfriendly to new people, especially when it comes to the rich family known as the (L/n) family. We are staying at the (L/n) manor guest house at the back of their property. This family is known for not answering questions, not helping, and judging people who don't follow their precious rules. The following rules must be respected:

No running through the halls

Treat all staff of the manor with respect

Respect the Property

No Unauthorized Entry

Guest Etiquette

Noise Control

The family has more rules, but they will talk more when we beam down. Does anyone have any questions?"

The room stayed quiet, and commander looked over to Lieutenant commander Billups and he shook his head showing that he had nothing to say. They stood on the transporter and got us in formation. Mariner spook as everyone was preparing for transport "Are you ready, three days off the ship!" I smiled before we were beamed off the ship and landed in a courtyard with bushes of flowers and a water fountain featuring the animal the village is known for; (F/a). Mariner looked around as walked towards the main area of the manor; everyone eyeing every tiny detail. We stop in front of the manor stairs, waiting for people to greet us, for example; my parents. As we waited to be greeted Mariner leaned close to me and whispered. "This is anticlimactic, why are they late." I snickered and replied. "They hate Starfleet; they want to be with them as short as possible or; they are preparing the house to make sure we don't steal anything."
