Blaise was in a lot of pain.

He had been going in and out of consciousness for several hours now. Blaise cannot remember a time when he had been in as much pain as he was now. The Queen of Spain had a surprisingly good grasp on the cruciatus curse. A twisted part in the back of his mind wondered if the Queen and Bellatrix could trade notes on the most effective way to cast crucio for the maximum amount of pain inflicted. The tremors after the curse was lifted hurt worse than the curse itself did.

When Queen Joanna visited him next, Blaise knew something was happening. Anticipation filled his gut as he watched the Queen pacing the marble floors looking both angry and frightened and Blaise knew in his soul it meant Haylan did not follow whatever instructions she had tried to blackmail him with. Not that he ever believed his rule-breaking Gryffindor would ever concede to any demands imposed upon him. He was closing his eyes as another tremor shook through him, tightening all of his muscles before slowly relaxing again. Haylan was coming for him.

Blaise really hoped that Haylan wouldn't be too late when he opened his eyes to see the unhinged look on Queen Joanna's face.

"What is so special about you little boy toy? Why is Caliban willing to risk everything to come get you? Or are you really not important so Caliban does not care if I kill you as long as he gets his revenge?" Queen Joanna nearly snarled at Blaise.

Blaise rasped out a pained chuckle. "If My Haylan is coming for me, it might be a good time for you to start your retreat."

"Oh I will be long gone by the time Caliban arrives, but I will be leaving him the gift of your lifeless body first." Queen Joanna declared, her wand sparking in anticipation.

Unlike his beloved husband, Blaise had never been great at wandless magic and he had never successfully cast anything both wordlessly and wandlessly. But being threatened is a great motivation to at least try.

Blaise closed his eyes to concentrate feeling the magic building inside of him, trying his best to direct it to break the ropes tying him down to give him a chance to run.

"I learned this spell just for you boy toy. Maybe you are special after all." Queen Joanna mocks before shouting the spell. There is a white flash of light as the spell leaves her wand and the sectumsempra curse tears into Blaise's body just as his ropes release.

Sirius doesn't know what happened during Haylan's conversations with the Gods (it was still hard to wrap his mind around the fact his little Bambi could speak to any deity). What Sirius did know was they received the emergency alert from the ICW first and then Haylan ordered for anyone with a working wand and the ability to at least stun people to gather in the throne room because they would be leaving for Spain as soon as Haylan made it to the throne room and they would not be waiting on anyone. Sirius and Narcissa were worried about Haylan but put on their battle robes to join the others, they would not let the young Emperor go to Spain without his family to support him. None of them had a good feeling about what state they would find Blaise in.
