Blaise had started the day feeling extremely nervous, It was daunting to meet his boyfriend's family as well as introduce his Mother to his boyfriend all in one sitting. But he really wanted his Mother to approve of Haylan, and he wanted Haylan's family to approve of him too.

When Haylan announced that he would be telling all of them something important about his past, Blaise already knew in his gut that Draco was going to be a problem. Blaise loved his friend and godbrother, but he also knew him quite well. Draco would open his mouth before thinking every single time.

Blaise was right, Draco did open his big fat mouth, but Blaise was still processing what Haylan dropped on them too.

Haylan was Harry Bloody Potter.

Harry Potter who had gone missing during the summer after the Triwizard Tournament. Blaise had never had much contact with Harry when he was at Hogwarts, he had observed a couple of childish fights between Draco and Harry in passing but otherwise, he left Draco to his obsession over their rivalry. Honestly, he was positive that Draco had just been pulling Harry's pigtails due to being in denial about crushing on the boy who lived.

Now that thought made Blaise pause.

Draco wasn't allowed to have a crush on his first serious boyfriend. He would kill him if he tried anything.

Another pause.

He was dating not only the Emperor, not only a Lord three times over, but also the boy who lived. His boyfriend couldn't get any more powerful or famous if he actively tried. What did Haylan see in boring Blaise?

Blaise also couldn't help but admit to himself that his boyfriend being so powerful really appealed to his inner Slytherin and maybe a kink he hadn't realized he had because learning about Haylan's power just made him hard. He knew he was falling fast for Haylan, it was more than lust at this point even if there was a healthy dose of that as well. Out of everyone Haylan had still chosen Blaise which while he didn't need an ego boost, it definitely helped.

Blaise looked at Haylan and could see him pulling up walls to protect himself from expected rejection from them. That wouldn't do at all.

While tuning out Narcissa scolding Draco for his outburst, Blaise got up from his seat and made his way over to a blank-faced Haylan. Leaning down, he made sure to talk low enough that no one else but Haylan could hear him.

"Haylan, I do not care if you were to come out and say you are a Weasley or even the Dark Lord himself. You are sweet and patient and everything I have ever dreamed about having in a significant other. I choose you. Not Harry Potter, not Lord Potter-Black-Caliban, not even Emperor of the magical world. I want the Haylan I know and have come to care for. The one who blushes at the slightest compliment. The one who sends me notes with little things about his day. The one I know that I am slowly falling for and would be happy to one day marry. You are mine Haylan. Nothing is going to change that."

Haylan's face was bright red almost matching his hair. His eyes were wide with disbelief and awe. Blaise couldn't help himself if he had tried. Blaise leaned down and kissed Haylan chastely on his surprisingly soft lips.

They both pulled away blushing when Sirius wolf-whistled at them drawing everyone's attention.

"Seriously Blaise?" Draco asked exacerbated.

"You keep your childish feud and sexual denial over there Draco. Haylan is mine." Blaise growled causing the Black cousins to all laugh and Draco to turn pink and sputter out denials.

Haylan pulled Blaise down for another quick kiss, muttering softly. "You being possessive of me shouldn't be so hot."

That only made Blaise grin.
