As the carriage pulls into the courtyard, we all file off the vehicle and stand in a line.
A guard snatches the ringmasters papers off him.
He takes a look and snarls
"This says you have access to the great hall and nowhere else!" He shouts "if I find any guns, knives, weapons of any kind-"
I glance at Jesper besides me as he smiles but changes as soon as the man looks our way.
"-you will be fired at" he finishes "proceed" he tells us.
We get back into the circus cart and I sigh.
"You could have got us killed!" I shout at Jesper as I scold him for smiling "if he had seen you-"
"Relax love, he didn't" he smiles and i roll my eyes with a smile
"One day your smugness is going to catch you out" I say, crossing my arms
"Pfffttt" is all he says in return as the carriage draws on.

Inej pov:
As soon as we enter the room we are supposed to prepare in, I'm quick to change and get stared on doing just that- preparing.
I pull myself up on the fabric dangling down and i manoeuvre my legs in order to keep the fabric tight around me.
Lying down horizontally, I try to flip myself over.
I groan as the familiar feeling of the fabric tightening uncontrollably on my ankle happens.
"Jesper do I look alright?" I call out, knowing the man was standing by the door earlier.
"I havent done with this routine since I was 14" I mumble down at him.
Suddenly, I notice where his eyes are and I sigh.
I unwrap myself from the ceiling and my feet touch the floor.
"Jesper!" I say next to him
"What sorry?" He asks
"Are you even paying attention?" I ask
"I briefly remember you being airborne... was that long ago?" He asks cockily as I smack his arms and he smiles
I look in the direction his attention was in and I smile as I see her.
She walks from around the corner in her costume.
"I told him his cockiness is going to get him killed one day" she says, leaning on the wall next to him.
"Why weren't you paying attention anyway?" She asks and Jesper shrugs
"More interesting things to looks at" he says
"Like what?" She looks around
"You won't find what I'm talking about-"
"Oh I see" she says "quite breathtaking"
"You do not know what I'm on about"
"Quite cute if you ask me" she says, I hold in a laugh, knowing what she's trying to do.
Jesper doesn't move to look.
"He's so gorgeous"
That gains his attention and his relaxed mannor quickly becomes on edge as he leans forward to look at what she looking at
He sighs when he sees a horse standing by his shed.
Lorelei laughs as she walks past us to go to the others.
