I woke up to a bunch of screaming and slamming. I sat up and looked around my room for a minute and blinked rapidly to wake up faster. I walked out slowly to the living room and everyone was screaming at Lestat, who seemed to be ignoring them. Probably with good reason. I stood there in a tired state, watching Lestat's every move, it seemed he was mad. I walked over to him slowly and I stared up at him, waiting for him to realize I was there. He was in his own little world, he didn't hear or listen to anyone. I looked at everyone else and Marius walked up to me and grabbed my arm, going to pull me away... but Lestat grabbed me. They both stared at each other as I looked up at both of them.
"Guys, what is happening? Why are you fighting now?"
"We are not fighting, Emma." Marius said and I scoffed and looked up at Lestat, who seemed to have a different take on the situation.
"She's coming with me," Lestat said and everyone began to argue again. I began to grow angry and I hit Lestat on the chest, which forced him to look down at me.
"What is going ON?" I screamed and I looked around, confused as to why everyone was being this way. I had just gotten up, I had no idea what was going on.
"She is not going with you, Lestat. You know how dangerous that could be. Plus, she can die easily and you cannot."
"I'm right here! I am talking!" I hit Marius now and he looked down at me. I crossed my arms and he sighed and looked up at Lestat again.
"I need help," was all Lestat said so I sighed, trying to control my own anger. I looked back at him and Evelien walked over so she could be closer to me.
"Okay, what do you need help with?" He smirked and I showed him I was not in the mood for his games.
"A Vampire situation."
"Lestat, I already volunteered to go with you, you can't take her, I will not allow it," Louis said and I sighed and looked back at Louis. He looked down at me and shook his head. He genuinely didn't want me to go with Lestat, no one did.
"Lestat, why do you want me to go but no one else?" He looked down at me from Louis and sighed. He stepped closer to me and I stepped closer to him, which brought a look of confusion to his face.
"Don't flatter yourself, Emma. It is all for strategic purposes. If a Vampire sees you standing all alone then he won't think twice to come for you. He won't be expecting me to be there, waiting in the shadows for him." I look at the others and I nod my head. Armand scoffs and shakes his head.
"And what if in that split second the Vampire decides to -I don't know- shoot you or stab you?" I looked up at Lestat and he looked down at me. He seemed to be... thinking.
"If I get stabbed or shot, I am blaming you then," I said and he chuckled and shook his head.
"Cut, maybe, but not stabbed." I giggled and Evelien used force as she turned me to look at her. I pulled away and looked at her.
"You are not actually thinking about going with him, are you? Emma, if you die then me being here will be pointless."
"Hey, I'm not going to die, and you still have a purpose even when I do end up dying one day. It won't be today and it won't be tomorrow. Please, just let me go. I will be back, I can guarantee it, Evelien." She sighed and shook her head.
"Emma, you are not going anywhere," Seraphina said and I looked up at her and rolled my eyes. I crossed my arms and looked up at Lestat.
"Which one of you guys is my parent?" They all seemed confused after I asked this.
"Emma, I am not your parent but-"
"That's right, none of you. I am twenty years old and I don't need an adult's permission to do anything I want anymore. Even if you guys were my parents I wouldn't need your permission to kill a big bad." I grabbed my jacket and followed Lestat out the door. I followed after him to his bike and I stared at it and then at him as he sat down, looking up at me.
