"Hey Emma, you might want to get out here." I woke up and blinked a few times, not knowing if what I was hearing was in a dream or in real life. I heard a knock at the door and I moaned, hoping they wouldn't turn the light on.
"Emma, please get up. Something came in the mail for you." I looked up, intrigued now. Evelien came in and turned on the light, which hurt.
"God damn, Evelien." She laughed and shrugged her shoulders.
"Sorry, I thought you might want to see it." She came over and sat on my bed, handing me an envelope. I sighed and I opened it, seeing my name on the back. I stared at the handwriting on the back, recognizing it as Lestat's.
"You said this came in the mail?"
"Well, it was on the table, actually. I thought you just forgot to open it." I traced my name with my finger and shook my head.
"No, this is from Lestat. Lestat why are you-"
"Lestat isn't here," Louis said as he also entered the room. I looked at him and ran out to the living room, sitting down with the others so they knew if it was anything important.
"What's in it? Why is Lestat giving you an envelope?" I shrugged my shoulders and slowly took out the contents. There was a plane ticket and a note.
Emma,
I sent this letter particularly to you so they wouldn't see it,
You know how Marius and Louis can get,
I need you to come to Miami,
Like,
Right now,
I know you don't like leaving the confines of your house,
Or heights,
But if you want to help me you will have to fly here,
I will be waiting,
And make sure to come alone,
Your favorite Vampire,
Lestat
I grabbed my jacket and keys and looked at the ticket, realizing I only had twenty minutes to get to the airport and get to my gate. I rushed out the door and Evelien ran out to me.
"Wait, what is happening?"
"I don't have time to explain. Don't worry, I will be fine." I got in my car and headed to the airport where I boarded my flight. I hadn't been on a flight in forever. I flew to Miami, sleeping all the way there. It was about only a five hour flight and when I got off the plane Lestat was standing there by his bike. I stopped and I stared at him, confused by how calm he was. I walked over to him and punched him in the arm.
"I thought you were in danger, Asshole."
"I didn't say I was in danger, it is your fault you thought that." I sighed and he smirked, which somehow stopped me from being mad at him.
"Okay, if you aren't in danger and you don't care about having fun, then why the Hell did you have me fly to Miami?"
"Because it is Vampire ville." I sighed and crossed my arms and he got on his bike and looked at me and I shook my head.
"You're stupid."
"No, actually I am quite smart... for my age." I sighed and I stared at him. He was aggravating, but at the same time he still had the charm he had three years ago.
