You ignore Han's attempts at finding out what happened that night, constantly changing the subject when he tries pressing further than your brief explanation of thugs. For that reason, you never tell him you can call because the one time you worked out when to call, he kept pushing it. You're not sure if you should be happy that he's worried or offended that he won't drop it.

After a month or so, he drops it. After 3 months, you give in to your urge to see him or hear his voice, so you ask about a call or maybe a video call.

Around the 6 or 7-month mark in September, you go silent for several weeks, not responding at all. It's not that he did anything; you're stressed about finals for your degree and don't have time.

You've spent 2 years learning anything and everything about specialized training to be a bodyguard. You have exams and assessments for knowledge on CPR, EMT, protective techniques, and a million other things, and you can't be distracted. You honestly forgot to tell him, so you didn't realize he'd been panicking the whole time until you finally charged your poor phone. So many messages and missed calls... you quickly scroll through the texts and message him back a quick apology.

You: Sorry I had finals. I forgot to charge my phone and everything

Han: You scared me!!

Han: Next time give me a warning that you're disappearing!

Han: Did you pass?

You: Yeah, I officially graduate next week and then I can find work.

Han: Work where?

You: Anywhere, really. I'm highly qualified in my field from my specialized training so I may even have offers for jobs.

Han: What are you specialized in? You never told me you were even doing school 🥲

You: A lot of things, CPR, EMT, self-defense, a couple of languages, etc

Han: Why won't you tell meeeeeee

You: Because it's funny when you pout

Han: No fair

You: Gotta go meet up with my friend, bye soulmate

Han: Rude, you disappear for weeks and this is all I get? You missed my birthdayyyyyy

You: Love your face 😘

Han: Don't joke about that, Y/N

You leave him on read, getting ready to go out with your best friend to celebrate you passing your exams. Your friend moved away to go to another university, so this will be the first time seeing her since the concert where she didn't know you met your soulmate.

You secure the thick watch on your wrist, opting to cover the soul mark even though you can't find any connection to your soulmate's work. It's a precaution you'll probably always take because while his company is lenient right now, you can't risk anyone finding out who your soulmate is. You don't want to deal with nondisclosure agreements, possibly ruining his career, or being hounded by his agency. You're lucky they haven't drowned you in NDAs yet.

Graduation passes quickly, weeks blurring together as you debate which aspect of bodyguarding you'll go into. You want something consistent so individual jobs wouldn't be ideal. And that's when JYP Entertainment reached out to you.

You're confused but accept to meet them, surely they know you're Han's soulmate, right? You push the thoughts aside for the moment and get dressed in more formal attire as it is a job offer-type interview.
