It was late at night as Madeline was sitting in the small desk in the room with her Muggle studies book and her parchment as she scratch through the paper.

Her table desk light was the only light which she can get as she was writing hurriedly on the paper.

"Maddy, slow it down." Harry whispered from behind her.

She stopped and looked back at him, he was lying on his stomach in bed, the
blankets drawn right over his head like a tent, a flashlight in one hand and a large leather-bound book A History of Magic propped open against the pillow.

"Why? It's for our school, we'll do whatever and however we want." Madeline huffed, going back to her work.

Harry sighed but started to do his work too.

They were doing this because of their Aunt and Uncle. They are not so fond of the magical things and wouldn't let them do anything.

Specially that they had to work all day, they wouldn't get any chance to do their homework and so they do it at night.

Harry would always tell her to do it in her bed just like him, but she doesn't listen and sit at the small desk they got at the small room, which they grew in and do her work.

They were almost given a small cupboard below the stairs but seeing that they wouldn't fit, they were sent to a small storage room which was dirty as hell, but they managed.

The Drusleys won't let anyone know about Harry and Madeline being witch and wizards and wouldn't let them out too. And if they get caught, their books, wands and everything that they have would be taken away and they would be locked at the cupboard for the rest of the summer holidays.

They was particularly keen to avoid trouble with their aunt and uncle at the moment, as they were already in an especially bad mood with them, all because they'd received a telephone call from a fellow wizard one weekend the school vacation.

Ron Weasley.

After that call, Ron didn't called anymore already knowing that they are in trouble.

Madeline was sad because none of her friends were able to send letters, not even Fred and George or Hermione.

Madeline was finished with her work, she kept all the things in her bag and stood up to check the timing, it was 1 O clock already.

She grinned and looked at Harry who was also packing. He stood up, checked the clock and looked back at Madeline with the same grin.

"Happy birthday Harry."
"Happy birthday Madeline."

They said to each other at the same time and hugged.

"We are now thirteen!" She raised her voice a bit and danced.

"Shh!" Harry hissed, taking her shoulder to calm her down. Madeline tched, shaking his hand away from her shoulder.

They never received a birthday card in their life. The Dursleys had completely ignored their last two birthdays, and they had no reason to suppose they would remember this one. Even though Petunia did gave them a new set of clothes the last birthday, which got them shock but took it kindly.

"It's our birthday, let me celebrate. I don't care If I break their 'beauty sleep' " She said in a high pitch sweet voice then made a face.

"Alright, fine" Harry chuckled.

They walked to the window and looked out at the shining sky. They had been expecting their owls to come soon as they had written to their friends about their whereabouts. But it has been two days since they are gone. Well they really don't care unless they come back safely.
