Tango's Suspicion

WARNING: This chapter is kinda weird, & maybe a lil dramatic, so please don't judge us. This is Chilly's favorite chapter as well, so bear with me. It may not make a ton of sense, but it will when we release more books! <3

Tango awoke to Swallow shaking her, a large grin on the Wingless dragon's face. 
"TANGO."
"What?"
"WE GET TO GO TO THE ISLAND PALACE TODAY!"

Tango jumped out of her bed faster than a Jaguar, and they both squealed like little dragonets. Neptune chuckled, but was clearly excited as well, "guys! Make sure to pack lunches & stuff, don't just fly away!" Tango & Swallow nodded, grinning. They quickly packed their required things, as well as some scrolls for note taking. Tango wished she could tell Swallow her & Gardevoirs plan, but if Swallow was a part of it, she could get in trouble. 

"Somebody seems excited" said a voice from the door. It was Quill, who was obviously here for Neptune (who, Tango noted, now seemed 10x more nervous).  Tango then had an ingenious idea.

"Neptune, you should go ahead with Quill!" she remarked, still grinning. Neptune shot a look that read, YOU LITTLE- but Quill nodded in agreement with the idea. "Let's go, Neptune!" Tango waved as the two departed, then slipped a bit of water resistant parchment into her satchel before looking at Swallow.

"Right, they have a head start now, so we should go too." Swallow nodded in agreement, & the two of them also set off for the History cave.

 "Alright guys! Please stretch your wings, we have a long flight ahead of us!" Excited chatter filled the room, & eventually Swallow went to talk with her friend from the other day, leaving Tango alone. "alright then, let's head out! I'm sure Queen Anemone won't want to wait..." 

Everybody cheered as they took off into the skies. Peacemaker made his way next to Tango, & they began to talk.

 "Hey, Tango." 
"Oh, hi peacemaker."
Tango noticed the rainbow scales on Peacemakers wings slowly changing into a worried green, & she frowned.

"What is it Peacemaker?" she asked, her voice sounding more concerned as they continued the flight. Peacemaker sighed, & looked Tango in the eyes with shame.

"I uhm, used my magic again to make you this bracelet." Tango's expression changed, & her own colors shifted into a ruby red. "PEACEMAKER!" she whisper shouted, a frustrated expression coming across her face. Peacemaker seemed to slink back for a moment.

"I know it seems cool, but I don't want you to grow greedy. Were literally going someplace where an Animus dragon turned evil!" she quietly scolded.

Peacemaker nodded, handing her the bracelet. Tango didn't know if she should still stay mad, but thanked Peacemaker for it. Her frustration seemed to disappear as she put it on.

 "We best check in with Queen Anemone before heading over to the Palace" Periwinkle said, a tone of authority tinting her words.

They gracefully flew down like a flock of birds & were easily able to get access to the Summer Palace. 

"Fly up to the top, the Queen should be there" instructed a guard, to which they all said thanks. As they flew to the top tier of the Palace, they noticed the number of guards decrease. The Queen must really be traumatized after Coral kept a leash on her.. Tango thought, feeling slightly bad for Queen Anemone.

 "Oh, hello there" the Queen said dully as they flew into her view, "Your friend Swallow just got here as well." I completely forgot about Swallow! Did she swim here? 

"She's down on the bottom tier- since, y'know, she can't really fly all the way up here" Anemone said, yawning, as if bored by their presence, "The Island Palace is east of here, quite obvious, go have a looksie." 

Periwinkle nodded, "thank you, your Majesty!" Anemone nodded, & soon they were back in the Air. 

Tango flew close to the water, trying to spot Swallow (who was indeed, swimming). As the old Castle came into view, tango stopped & hovered, her mouth wide with awe. Periwinkle noticed this, & told everybody to stop for a moment. 

"It's beautiful! Just imagine all the History still lying here! I bet there's still old relics & cloth, maybe even the spear Indigo & Fathom used to slay Albatross! Oh this is so exciting!" exclaimed Tango, who was on the brink of screaming.

 Periwinkle chuckled, but yet again disappointed Tango, "sorry deary, we'll just be viewing from the outside. There's too many treasures in there I don't trust you guys with." 

Tango sighed, but glanced at Gardevoir, who had been eyeing something down in the water. "Let's keep going!" Exclaimed Periwinkle, beckoning the rest of the students along with her.

 Tango watched as everybody, except her & Gardevoir, vanish into the distance. "I uhm, see something in the water d-down there. It might be an e-entrance..?" said Gardevoir softly, pointing to the area she had been looking at earlier. Tango squinted, but Gardevoir was right, down there in the water was a big hole in the wall. 

"Thank you Gardevoir! You can go rejoin them if you want" Gardevoir shook her head, "no, I'd like to..uhm, come with you- if you don't m-mind.." a slight pink color briefly came across Gardevoirs face, but Tango didn't point it out.

"That's a great idea!" exclaimed Tango, grinning. Gardevoir smiled sheepishly, & as the waves crashed beneath them, they hovered in silence. Were they really about to break into the Island Palace..? They then exchanged a glance, sucked in a breath, & dove beneath the waves of the sea.

(A/N): This chapter has been updated like 700 billion times but Chilly finally settled with this great amazing cliffhanger. How do you think Tango feels after Peacemakers act of kind stupidity?
