"Mommy, but I want to be there!" a little girl's voice quivered as she softly cried out, pointing at the towering Ferris wheel.
Her mother's expression turned serious as she tried to reason, "Sweetie, you're just a bit too tiny for that ride."
The little girl's cries grew louder, prompting her mother to make hushing gestures in an attempt to calm her.
Meanwhile, Chris let out a sigh and remarked, "What a wonderful day we're having."
Jeongin couldn't suppress a soft chuckle and teased, "I recommended a simple park visit, but you insisted on having 'extra fun' today."
Chris arched an eyebrow and responded, "Well, I can't argue with that. But, life can be pretty serious, and a dose of 'extra fun' is just what we need from time to time."
Jeongin's cheeks tinted with a rosy hue, and he nervously bit his lip, trying to conceal his shy smile. He felt a peculiar mix of embarrassment, both for how at ease he was becoming with Chan and for the way Chan's words had an impact on him.
"I want to slap that girl," a voice emerged from behind.
It was none other than the Almighty Han Jisung.
Chris couldn't suppress a chuckle and continued, "Go ahead, please do it—" He stopped, noticing Jeongin's puzzled look, and then shifted his gaze to Jisung. "I completely forgot you were here with us."
Jisung raised an eyebrow and quipped, "Well, I'm just here to make sure nobody gets too carried away with 'extra fun'." He flashed a sly grin as he looked at Jeongin.
Jeongin's eyes widened, and his heart skipped a beat. His thoughts screamed in bold, big letters:
WHAT DID HE SAY? WHAT DOES HE MEAN? WHAT DOES HE MEAN? AM I MISSING SOMETHING? SHOULD I BE WORRIED?
"Uh, moving on," Chris quickly interjected, trying to change the subject. "How about we go grab some cotton candy?"
Jeongin nodded eagerly, "Yes, please," and quickly started to walk ahead, gripping the hem of his hoodie as he moved.
"Stupid bitch," Chris playfully slapped Jisung's arm, diffusing the tension with a light-hearted gesture.
"Don't use bad words on me, you dumb... duck," Jisung quickly corrected himself, covering his mouth, while Chris raised an eyebrow, amused by the sudden change in language.
"Hey, hyung~~" Jisung batted his eyes and adopted an innocent tone. "You can't get mad at me. We're on a mission, remember? And I'm just here third-wheeling."
"I had to bring you; I can't handle this on my own, and Changbin isn't the best multitasker," Chris explained with a nonchalant shrug as they walked together toward the cotton candy store.
As they waited behind Jeongin, both of their phones received a message:
