Sitting in his chair, Yoon Junseo couldn't get the image of Jeongin from yesterday out of his mind. It was remarkable how, even after all these years, Jeongin still appeared so scared in his presence.

It had been nearly eleven days since Jeongin's uncle had filed a missing report. The police, particularly Junseo, seemed to be working on it rather lackadaisically. After all, why should he care if Jeongin goes missing or worse?

What troubled him more was Jeongin's uncle actively searching for him. The elderly man had visited the police station twice since filing the missing report.

He had encountered Jeongin at the fair the previous day. The younger boy was easily frightened, making him a vulnerable target. Junseo could have forcibly taken him and thrown him into his jeep, he refrained. Why?

Because Chris was with Jeongin.

After all, Chris was the one who had silenced him with money in the past. What made this even more complex was the fact that Junseo was corrupt and had connections to Chris's criminal activities.

Yoon Junseo couldn't help but wonder why Jeongin was with Chris. He decided to pay a visit to Chris's mansion, getting into his car and taking a long drag from his cigarette. As he drove, he pondered the situation, murmuring to himself, "Jeongin with Chris... interesting."

After arriving at the residence, Junseo discarded the cigarette and crushed it under his shoe. He adjusted his uniform, making sure his stars shone brightly as a testament to his "hard work."

He walked in, and the guards allowed him to enter. He spotted Jeongin descending the long staircase, dressed in a pretty blue sweater, his hair bouncing with every step.

And Junseo couldn't stand it at all, seeing Jeongin so happy made him feel disgusted.

Jeongin didn't notice him at first. He was all smiles again, as he and Chris were getting ready for the day. Perhaps just a simple trip to the park, as Jeongin had suggested. He had momentarily forgotten about the encounter at the fair.

But sometimes, life isn't that simple.

"Look who we have here," Junseo's voice cut through the air.

Jeongin's eyes widened as he heard that voice. He stopped at the last stair of the staircase, and Junseo approached him.

Jeongin couldn't believe what had just happened. Why was Junseo here? How had he found out where he lived? And why was he wearing a police uniform? It was all so confusing for him.

"Always a dumb little boy," the officer muttered under his breath. A cold smile played across his face, his sharp eyebrows and thin lips making him look even more handsome. Handsome and menacing. "We meet again, Yang Jeongin."

Jeongin's lips parted, but he struggled to find his voice. He felt an overwhelming urge to hide away and never look back. No, Jeongin, be confident... he silently encouraged himself.
