Earlier before the dark night, Ruby sang a little song in sadness. This whole situation with Rocket was starting to mess with her head.
"I know your favourite song, I hear it everyday."Ruby started.
"Whoever made your smile, did it to get in my way. And everytime you laughed, you make that little sound..." Ruby reminisced baby Rocket giggling and adult Rocket chuckling, and it also earned a soft chuckle from her.
"This does the hardest things, to love you but not know how."Ruby looked up to the stars, as if they were there to guide her.
"So I spend, all my nights in the dark and afraid...cause I've tried to forget you, but these things just don't go away..."She sang, thinking back to the weeks when she had been avoiding Rocket.
"I hate that you're perfect, perfect for me. If I hadn't known better, then I would believe, that we were made for each other, but I'd know the truth~~. You're no good for me, and I'm no good for you, and I hate that you're perfect, perfect for me…" Ruby's melodious voice rang through Ego(the planet). Even Drax and Mantis, who were both having a conversation, stopped to listen.
"What good are words when they always just get in our way~~. And it hurts the most just to know that you don't feel the same, the same…and sometimes I get down on my knees and I pray things would change. But life is what happens when things don't work out our way, our way…" her voice broke at the end, like her broken heart.
"So I spend, all my nights in the dark~, and afraid…coz I've tried to forget you, but things don't just go away, away~~~."Ruby's voice broke again, prompting her to smack herself on the head out of anger.
"And I hate that you're perfect, perfect for me, if I didn't know better, than I would believe, that we were made for each other, but I'd know the truth…You're no good for me, and I'm no good for you, and I hate that you're perfect for me, perfect for me~~.I hate that you're perfect for me…"Ruby finished, wanting to go back to her bed before she shows more signs of weakness.
When Amber approached her, upon reading the "signs", she decided it was best she let her sister sleep til her misery fades and then they'll start investigating what the heck is wrong with Ego.
