The night had been filled with music, laughter, and dancing as Y/N enjoyed a party with her friends. But as the clock struck midnight, she decided it was time to head home. The party had been a blast, but she was eager to curl up in her own bed and get some much-needed rest.
Y/N stepped out onto the dimly lit streets, her heels clacking softly on the pavement as she began her journey home. The neighbourhood was quiet, and the occasional streetlamp provided the only source of light.
As she walked, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She noticed a man trailing behind her, keeping a distance but still close enough to make her uncomfortable. He tried to strike up a conversation with her, offering unsolicited compliments and asking where she was headed.
Y/N's heart began to race, and a feeling of dread settled over her. She quickened her pace, hoping to lose the stranger, but he persisted, his words growing more persistent and unsettling. Her breaths became shallow, and she felt trapped in a situation she didn't know how to escape.
Just as the situation seemed to be taking a darker turn, a hero in the form of Hyunjin arrived on the scene. He had been walking his beloved dog, Kkami, not far from where Y/N was, and his sharp instincts picked up on the distressing situation unfolding ahead.
Hyunjin, with his tall and confident demeanour, rushed toward Y/N and put an arm around her, pulling her close to him. He fixed the stranger with a firm, no-nonsense stare, his voice carrying a hint of sternness.
"Hey, there you are," Hyunjin said, his tone convincingly protective. "I've been looking for you everywhere. You had me worried."
Y/N, her heart pounding with fear, played along, understanding that this was the lifeline she needed in this frightening moment. She nestled closer to Hyunjin, seeking the safety of his presence.
The stranger hesitated, clearly taken aback by the sudden turn of events. He mumbled a few words of protest but ultimately decided to back off, retreating into the shadows with a resentful glare. Hyunjin didn't allow him to get in any last words, guiding Y/N away from the stranger.
Once they were out of earshot, Y/N turned to Hyunjin, her voice shaky but filled with gratitude. "Thank you so much. You saved me back there."
Hyunjin smiled gently, his arm still protectively around her. "No need to thank me. I couldn't just walk by and do nothing. Are you okay now?"
Y/N nodded, feeling her panic begin to subside. "I am, thanks to you. I don't know what I would have done without your help."
Hyunjin's gaze softened as he looked at her. "I'm glad I could be there for you. What's more important is that you're safe."
With a newfound sense of security, Y/N and Hyunjin continued walking together. They exchanged stories and laughter along the way, with Kkami wagging his tail happily as he trotted beside them.
When they finally reached Y/N's doorstep, she turned to Hyunjin, her heart filled with gratitude. "I can't thank you enough for helping me, Hyunjin. You were like my knight in shining armor."
Hyunjin chuckled, his cheeks tinged with a light blush. "I'm just glad I could be of help. Hey, how about we exchange numbers? We could meet up for coffee or something, as friends. You never know when a friend might come in handy."
Y/N agreed wholeheartedly, and they swapped numbers. The unexpected encounter had brought them together, and they both felt a sense of kinship and trust. As the days went by, their friendship grew, and they found comfort in having each other as confidants and companions, and eventually lovers.
