Grian looked up at the vibrant blue sky. The fluffy clouds were delicately moving along with the breeze, and the sun was warm. Luckily for him, he was a superhero today.
He was actually a professor in structure analysis, but in his free time, he was off being a hero. His style changed from a simple red sweater and regular brown pants, to wearing a dark binder and gloves that almost went up to his shoulders. He also wore baggy pink shorts, with thick light pink lacing down both pant legs, both of which ending with a bow. Along with some dark tights, as well as white heels that went past Grian's ankles, and small (fake) wings that came from the back of his shoes. Plus three pairs of wings, one of which from his temples, the next planted a bit higher, and the last pair which sprouted out from his back. He also covered his identity by using small back feathers that were on the top half part of his face, hiding his identity even further. His eyes sparked off a purple glow, which could be changed due to specific mutant magic.
Cuteguy jumped down from the tall building, wings tucking slightly to gain speed, then they slightly spread out before he touched the ground.
"Cuteguy!" A voice called. Grian swiveled his head to see a young boy waving at him. His wings reacted faster than he did, and they spread them out widely to act as a sort of parachute. He came to a quick stop, his feet landing gracefully to the ground.
The boy raced over to him, and Grian had to crouch down to meet the child's height. The kid had dark hair and sparking blue eyes. He also had small crystals that looked like they were in the process of growing from his cheeks, using the same color of his eyes. "I lost my ball. Can you help me?"
Grian nodded, gently smiling. He mainly only received requests from mutants, though he was trying his hardest to accommodate himself with the city's people. They didn't seem to care about him, some even going as far as wanting to get rid of him. "Where do you remember leaving it last?" Grian asked the young boy, standing himself up straight. The boy thought for a moment, then walked over to a table, where his mother was.
"I remember setting it down over here," the boy explained, while his mother nodded to Cuteguy in thanks.
Grian smiled back, his eyes glowing a bit more as he looked around. "I think I see something behind the tree over there..." He said, pointing to a nearby oak tree.
"You do?!" The small boy ran over to the tree, bent down, and snatched a red rubber ball. Then the boy ran back over to Grian. "Wow! You're right! Thank you, Cuteguy!"
Grian smiled. For some reason, being a hero sometimes made him feel more like himself. He sometimes felt invincible. Something about helping other Mutants like himself had lit a fire in his heart when he was just a small Avian. Jimmy, his cousin, had always laughed at the idea. Little, stubborn, cold Grian a superhero?!
Like that could ever happen.
"Well, I ought to be off." Cuteguy winked at the child. "Let me know the next time your ball goes missing!"
"I sure will!" The kid chirped, running back to his mother to discuss how awesome his experience meeting Grian was.
Just as he was about to flap his wings into takeoff, Grian heard some talking from a nearby alleyway. He paused, then walked over to investigate. After turning a few corners, he saw something that made his eyes narrow to slits.
"What did I ever do to you?!" A young, female Avian yelled at the five emerald soldiers surrounding her. One of which being one of Cuteguy's... coworkers.
"Coworker" was a bit far-fetched.
Grian had met Hotguy almost as soon as Hotguy had officially been invited as a part of the stupid governmental organization: The Emerald Soldiers. The two were mainly rivals, but unlike most Emerald Soldiers, Hotguy was kinder than most of his teammates. He would even let Cuteguy escape sometimes.
