Brighter skye

High School Game 1

I wake up with a weight on my chest and the feeling like somebody's staring at me. I open my eyes to see sunshine looking at me smiling, i immediately think 2 things number 1 being "oh hell im definitely kicked out" and number 2 being "holy god she's adorable." Im immediately snapped out of my thoughts when skye speaks in a whisper.
Skye: Goodmorning sleepyhead.
Me: Goodmorning munchkin
Skye: I'd love to stay like this but we have to get up and get ready for school bestie.
Me: Yeah i guess your right i guess your right I'll see you at breakfast if moms doesn't kick me out or kill me or both.

Skye laughed at that last remark as i left and went to get dressed. Since today's a game day coach wants me dressed well so i went with a white dress shirt and black slacks with black oxford dress shoes. The team would get our letterman jackets today which is why i didn't wear a sport jacket.

I slowly and cautiously made me way to the kitchen for breakfast. When i turned the corner to see skye's mom smiling at me as i sat down. Its quiet for a little until Skye's mom decides to break the silence.
Skye's mom: "soooo whens the wedding??" I choked on a piece of bacon when she asked me that.
Me: "What's that now?"
Skye's mom: "Bub i didn't see you guys after dinner so i decided to check on you guys and say goodnight before i went to bed. So i went to your room and didn't see you in there. So then i went to skye's room to check on her and to see if she knew where you went. I opened her door and seen you two all cuddled up."
Me: "Moms im so sorry. We just passed out i guess i didn't mean to be disrespectful of you and your home. Ill be out by Sunday night."
Skye's mom: "Baby no it's really ok. I thought it was really cute i even took a picture of it." *She shows the picture she took of us*

Skye's mom: "I don't know if either have feelings for the other but if you two do, I'm all for it. JJ your such a good boy. You have been nothing but loving, supportive, and respectful to Skye since i first met you. I know you would never hurt my daughter, i can't tell you how proud I am of the young man you've become. All that being said if you both decide you want to be more than jus best friends, you have my blessing."
Me: "wow moms thank you so much you have no idea how much that means to me."

Skye's mom: "Your welcome bubba but i got to know, do you have feelings for her?"
Me: "Homestly i think i always have. Moms i think im in love with her."
Skye's mom: "That makes me so happy. I think its mutual between the both of you. My mother's intuition is telling me you two will be together. Now i cant say when for certain but it'll happen bub trust me."
Me: "I always have and always will trust you and your intuition. I love you."
Skye's mom: "I love you too."
When skye saw me she said how good she thought i looked and i thanked her as i pulled out her chair to sit down and eat with us before getting dropped off at school.
   We got to school about 30 minutes later and we walked to our first period class together. We had desks right next to eachother so we just sat down and killed time until the assembly half way through to get our letterman jackets.

After the announcement was made calling the student body to the auditorium me and skye walked down together.
   After the assembly i went to my locker to put my jacket in there since i didnt want to wear it. I had decided to bring a sport coat and put it in my locker. When i got to my locker i took my letterman jacket off and put it in my locker and as i was putting my sport jacket on i heard someone clear their throat. I turn around to see skye looking not too pleased.
Me: "What is it sunshine?"
Skye: "Are you not gonna wear your jacket?"
Me: "No why?"
Skye: "Can i wear it pweaseeeee?"
Me: "You know i can't say no to you skye skye. Here take it, you probably look better in it then me anyway." I say that last part with a smile before we go on with our day.

    Finally the time has come. Its my team the warriors vs. The destroyers. Im in the locker room slipping my pads and jersey on before popping in my ear buds to get my mind right before the game. I saw i got a message from sunshine and i swear this girl is just messing around or she really is flirting. The convo went like this:
Sunshine❤❤:
    I can't wait to see you kill that defense. I'll bet you'll look so hot doin it.

Me:
    Damn sunshine I'm tryin to get my head right and you fuckin me up lmao.

Sunshine❤❤:
     💀💀Good luck Jackie ill be watching.😈😈
 
Me:
   Thank you sunshine❤❤

    When we got out on our sideline i heard Skye yell for me so i went over to her and she hugged me and said "good luck stud" with a wink.

First Quater:
We got the ball to start the game. The first play was a play action pass that i completed for 20 yards. The drive was easy as it ended with a 30 yard dime thrown by me for a touchdown for the 7-0 lead. After they took most of the quarter they were able to tie it up at 7-7. Before i went back on to the field i heard skye yell for me and when i turned around she yelled "you got this bestie!!" Man she didnt know how right she was. First play i ran on a Quaterback draw an 75 yards later we had a 14-7 lead. As i took my helmet off when i got back to the bench i winked at Skye an i may have been seeing things but i swear i seen her blush. Back to the game the halfback for the other squad punched in the tying touchdown as the first quarter wtapped up.

Second quarter:
We start the second just like we started the game with us havin the ball. This drive though i ripped the defense up throwing the ball, going 6 for 6 for 60 yards. We finished the drive off with me running a zone read in from 15 yards out for my second touchdown of the night and the lead 21-14. These boys are like ants...they just won't go away an were able to tie it up with there quaterbacks arm but there fatal mistake is they gave me 2 minutes before halftime to take the lead back. I love minute drill and knew i could do whatever i wanted play wise. I decided to do short quick passes for the first few plays. Then i decided to call a shot play just to spread the defense to one side so i could shred the defense with my legs an 50 yards and a spin move out of bounds later that's exactly what i did. We called our last timeout jus to be safe  but on the last play of the half i called a play action where i fake a Quaterback draw only to throw a back shoulder fade to the back pylon and it worked like a charm. 28-21 we up at halftime.

Fast forward to the last drive of the game....
Man this game has been a dog fight, both offenses have been clicking and scoring at will. We got a tie game at 49 a piece and we have the ball with 60 ticks left the only problem is we have no timeouts an 75 yards to go...this is about to be fun. We started out with quick slants on back to back plays. Then we tried to run a little bit but there defense said "nah thats not gonna work chief and didnt let us get out of bounds so i called a hail mary from the line on 3rd down an snapped the ball. I feel the pressure so i roll out to my right and launch the ball in the endzone as the linebacker comes up an smoked me like a cigar. I pick myself up to see my teammates celebrating in the endzone as the scoreboard reads 56-49 we win. I finished goin off on 26 of 28 for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns throwing the ball along with another 100 yards and 2 touchdowns running the ball.
    After i pull my pads and jersey off i feel Skye jump on me and wrap her arms and legs around me.
Skye: "Jackie oh my god im so proud of you. You did so good."
Me: "Thank you skye skye."
Skye: "Can we pretty please take some pictures?"
Me: "of course bestie."
We take a couple of pictures before i go to the locker room. The first is normal it's jus us smiling with my arm around her. The next one i picked her up and put her on my shoulders. Then the last one suprised me because I'm smiling but she's kissing my cheek. After we took our pictures i went to go get changed. After i got changed i went home and chilled with Skye in her room listening to music and talking.
Skye: "So how do you feel?"
Me: "I feel okay...I might feel better if i got some cuddles though."
Skye *smiling*: "Come here sweet boy"
I lay on her chest as she is playing with my hair and scratching my head. Im in absolute heaven but then she does something else that shocks the hell out of me...she kissed my forehead and says "Thats my good boy jackie. Thats my sweet boy." After she said that i just melted into her. I immediately passed out but in sleep i apparently leaned up and kissed her cheek then nuzzled my face in her neck to get the best sleep ive had in a long time.
