Lola's pov...

With every breath I took, my body ached and burned, making me live in a never ending cycle of torture. My knees were pulled up to my chest as I rested my pounding head on my knees.

I had been ejected from the car and knocked out cold for a good hour. I hadn't broken anything that we were aware of, however, I was bruised, bloody, and on death's door.

Vince was rushed to hospital, Dom picked me up and ran, Brian was lord knew where. Everything was messy. The second we got back to the house, and I was finally awake, Dom sent Letty, Leon and Mia somewhere. They were far away from trouble. I was supposed to go with them, however, I couldn't bring myself to leave when Jesse was still missing. It didn't matter if I was half dead, I was going to wait for him, even if it was going to kill me.

Dom still hasn't spoken a word to me, hadn't looked in my direction unless it was to check the cuts on my back. And that was perfectly fine with me. I was leaving the second I had Jesse.

"NO!"

Screams snapped me out of my trance, bringing a wince to my lips as I forced my aching body onto my feet. I knew who had shown up, I knew he was outside.

Propped against the door frame, I used all my strength to yell, "Dom, stop it! It's over. Please."

"Lola, stay out of it!"

"Lola."

My eyes instinctively flickered to his, and I hated it. Looking at him, I felt absolutely nothing.

There was nothing there anymore.

The roar of the engine brought a faint smile to my lips as my eyes locked onto Jesse's car speeding down the road, and within seconds, fueled by adrenaline, I was racing across the lawn. The second he opened the door, I threw my arms around his body.

"Thank god." I wheezed with a wince.

"Dominic, I am so sorry. I don't know what I'm doing, Dom. I'm so scared right now. I don't know what's going on. I am so sorry Lola B."

"What were you thinking, man?"

Pulling back, I grabbed a hold of Jesse's shoulders to steady myself as I levelled my gaze on him. "It's okay, J."

"I don't know! I panicked! I'm sorry. I'm scared! I don't know what I'm doing! Will you please help me..."

Jesse's words faded out as the sound of motorbikes filled my ears and the familiar goosebumps followed. Slowly, my eyes flickered to where they were racing towards us, perfectly in formation. It was a stance I was all too familiar with.

Someone was going to die.

"Dom." I quickly blurted out.

"Oh shit."

They were flying towards us, so fast, too fast.

"JESSE." I screamed as my hand grabbed onto his. "MOVE!"

Chaos broke out. Screams. Bangs. Gunshots. Complete and utter fucking chaos was unleashed.

Something wrapped around my body and pulled me backwards, ripping my hand out of Jesse's. Everything became a blur as I was deafened by the sound of bullets in the air. Brian's hot breath fanned against my cheek as he tucked my head into his chest, but I was still spiralling. Still deafened by the noise, still paralysed with shock.

It was as if I was floating out of my body, as if I wasn't really there, but instead looking down from above. I could see it all played out, I knew it was coming, but I never expected it to play out this way.
