The following morning, Heaven awoke to find herself enveloped in someone's strong embrace. Jacob's tanned chest greeted her gaze, and as she looked up, she found him gazing at her with an intensity that caused her cheeks to flush. Her attempts to extricate herself from his grasp proved futile as he drew her closer.
After both had freshened up, Heaven proceeded to prepare breakfast for both of them. Returning to their room after their meal, she contemplated her outfit for the day. She settled on black jeans, and a pink and red top, paired with heels. Her makeup consisted of a natural look, nude lipstick, mascara, and her mother's wristwatch.
When she entered the room, Jacob was already dressed casually. His appearance left her momentarily mesmerized, and she couldn't help but compliment him with a warm smile. Jacob's response was unexpectedly shy, and though he attempted to dismiss her compliment, a faint blush colored his neck.
Heaven couldn't hide her excitement, playfully teasing him about his blushing. Jacob's denials were unconvincing, and as their playful banter continued, his ears joined his reddening neck in betraying his true feelings.
Drawing closer to her, Jacob gently lifted her chin and whispered, "You look beautiful, Heaven, my Angel," eliciting another blush from her.
In that charged atmosphere, Jacob's thumb traced her bottom lip, rendering her momentarily speechless. Her plump lips were a tempting sight, as desire surged between them. As he was about to kiss her.
But somehow Jacob pulled away, recognizing the need for restraint. He released his hold on Heaven, leaving her flushed and breathless, their eyes locked in an unbreakable connection.
Heaven's thoughts swirled with confusion and desire, as she silently prayed not to fall in love with Jacob Knight, well aware of the intense emotions his touch and presence stirred within her.
Heaven and Jacob's electrifying encounter left an undeniable tension in the room. The moment had ignited something between them, a connection that neither could easily dismiss.
As they stood there, caught in a silent, charged atmosphere, Heaven couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions. Her heart raced, and her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts. She was torn between the desire to pull away from this magnetic pull and the curiosity that drew her closer to Jacob.
Jacob, too, struggled to regain his composure. His desire for Heaven was undeniable, but he knew he had to tread carefully. He couldn't afford to scare her away, especially after making a promise not to hurt her family.
With a visible effort, Jacob managed to step back, creating a bit of distance between them. He took a deep breath, trying to regain his cool exterior, but the fire in his eyes still smoldered.
Heaven, her cheeks flushed and her lips tingling from the lingering kiss tried to hide her face. She couldn't look directly at Jacob; it was all too overwhelming. She felt like she was caught in a whirlwind of emotions, and the line between love and fear was becoming increasingly blurred.
"Jacob," she finally whispered, her voice trembling. "I...I need some time to think." Her eyes, filled with a mix of attraction and uncertainty, locked onto his.
Jacob nodded, his expression a complex blend of longing and restraint. "Of course, Heaven. Take all the time you need."
After their day of shopping and bonding at the mall, Heaven and Jacob returned home, their relationship taking a new turn. The bags full of clothes and accessories were evidence of their outing, a step toward understanding each other better.
As they settled in, Jacob watched Heaven with a mix of emotions. Her smile, and her presence all made his life more beautiful. He had a desire to build a family with her, to have children running around their house, but he knew she wasn't ready for that yet. He found it challenging to resist the urge to touch her, to hold her close, and the struggle was becoming harder with each passing day.
Exhausted, Heaven went to their room and collapsed onto the bed. She closed her eyes, trying to rest, but something felt missing. She longed for Jacob's warmth, his comforting presence by her side. She realized that he had become an integral part of her life, filling the empty spaces she hadn't known were there before.
Meanwhile, Jacob entered their room, dropping the shopping bags on the couch. He went to change his clothes, and as he did, Heaven felt a void in the room without him. She yearned for his embrace, the feeling of safety and completeness it brought.
A few moments later, Jacob noticed Heaven's absence. He felt the same emptiness she did. He had grown accustomed to her presence, her warmth beside him at night. He decided to find her and bring back that sense of unity they had shared throughout the day.
Heaven knocked on the door to Jacob's study, her voice trembling as she asked to speak with him. Jacob, with his deep, commanding voice, allowed her in. She entered the room nervously, fearing his reaction.
"May I speak with you, Jacob?" she inquired, hesitatingly.
Jacob, sitting in his chair, raised an eyebrow, curious about what she wanted to say. He waved her in and watched as she took a seat across from him.
"What is it, Heaven?" he asked in his deep voice, causing a shiver of fear to run down her spine.
She began, "I... umm... I would like for us to start over, Jacob. I am not asking for an intimate relationship. I think this would be easier for me, not only for but for us. We could become friends."
Jacob leaned back in his chair, surprised by her request. Friends? It was a word he hadn't expected to hear from his wife. However, he found himself agreeing with her. Their marriage was complicated, and perhaps starting as friends would make it easier.
"I know, Heaven, you don't like me, but we are married, and it would help us. It's a great idea if we become friends," he replied, extending his hand to her.
She hesitated for a moment but then placed her small hand in his larger one. They shook hands, sealing their newfound friendship.
Jacob couldn't help but admire her smile. He wanted to see that smile on her face forever.
