Andrew walked out of the house with an arm around me. We stepped in the cold rain and looked out to the cars parked in front of the house. We walked towards the car King Amory had driven here, Andrew opened the back door and looked towards me. I walked towards the door and then looked up to the house. Should I be sad? I couldn't think of a reason to be upset. My lips went to a line as I looked towards the windows of the house. My parents died here. But looking over to Andrew as he walked to the other door. He smiled and I knew this wasn't my home anymore.

My home was with the werewolf with two different colored eyes.

My heart swelled as I softly smiled towards him and got into the car. Andrew smiled towards me as he sat beside me. Amory started the car and quickly we sped away from the house.

We never got a chance to meet our neighbors, we never talked to a human. Passing the neighborhood I wondered if I had played with children here? I reached for Andrew's hands and looked towards him. Andrew quickly grabbed mine and engulfed it with his warm hands. Only then did I realize how cold I was. Andrew rubbed my hand and closed his eyes, "Are you okay?" He asked me softly.

"That isn't my home anymore." I whispered and looked towards him. I squeezed his hand and then turned to look out of the window.

Holding hands with Andrew I tried to forget what had just happened. All this morning I was worried about seeing King Amory. I didn't want to see him, but as he started to joke with Andrew I couldn't help but understand who he was to my mate. A friend that my mate needed. Amory only smiled towards me from the small mirror as he turned the windshield wipers on. He wasn't the Alpha King I had met just as Andrew said. He was his friend. But, I still didn't trust him. Even as I smiled back at him, I knew it didn't meet my eyes. He might not be the Alpha King now, but he is still the man who had sentenced me to my death. I looked towards Andrew as he started to joke back with Amory.

The Diner they decided on was a ten minute ride, the parking lot was bare and the light in the D was flicking on and off. There was a neon sign that lit up the word OPEN. Amory pulled into the unpaved parking lot and got out of the car. Opening my door I felt the cold rain once again rush to greet my face as I looked at the dark trees that surrounded the diner.

A few homes on the street and from this view I could see a trailer park only a few blocks away. I walked where Amory and Andrew were waiting for me and walked into the warm diner. A mixture of smells hit my nose as we walked to a red booth. Andrew slid in after me and he picked up an illuminated menu handing me it. I could see coffee stains on the window beside me as I moved the various small packs of jelly away from the side of the table.

"My father used to take Andrew and I here all the time." Amory said as he smiled towards Andrew, "A little taste of the human world, he would say."

"The late Alpha King loved the burgers." Andrew said as he leaned back in the booth, "We were the only improper children in the pack to come along with him. Your brother and sister never came here, did they?"

"Benjamin did." Amory said and looked down as he exhaled. So that was the name of their older brother.

"What happened to the oldest prince?" I asked Andrew.

"He met his mate." Amory said as he scrunched his nose in disgust, "He said he didn't want her to shift so he left the pack. We never met her, and we didn't get to say goodbye. He just packed up and said goodbye. My father was furious."

"Oh." I said and looked down at the menu again.

"He didn't even come when Father fell ill. We don't speak of him, he is a disgrace to our kind." Amory growled, "He chose a human over his family. She didn't have to shift, she could have lived as a human. Being mated to a human is a disgrace, but to leave your family?" He shook his head as my face reddened as I looked towards Andrew.
