Koffi started laughing as soon as I walked back into his living room in his sweatpants and t-shirt, which looked like they were wearing me.

"Stop it." I said, a small smile creeping onto my face.

"Oh, I've only just begun. I like this your outfit! I do think you could've sized down a little, though." He laughed some more, coming over and walking around me with so much amusement on his face, I rolled my eyes.

He was now in the same outfit as I was in, but his clothes obviously fit him well. So well, in fact, that I stared intensely as he gathered the wet clothes we'd discarded and took his keys off the coffee table.

"Make yourself at home." he said, motioning to the comfortable looking cream couch with an even more comfortable looking bean bag beside it. "Let me take these clothes down to the laundry room. I'll be right back."

I nodded and took a seat, but stood back up as soon as the front door closed behind him. I was itching to see the collection of comics he had on the small bookshelf in one corner of his living room. He had classic manga collections and my jaw dropped when I noticed he'd collected every volume of Dragon Ball till date. That was all kinds of crazy to me. I wasn't the biggest manga reading fan, preferring to watch the animes myself, but I could definitely appreciate someone who was passionate enough about some of my favourite characters to be this invested in collecting the mangas.

"Are you interested in manga?" Koffi's voice startled me from the page I was reading in the first volume of Black Jack.

"You could say that." I shrugged and put the comic back where I found it. Under the Black Jack collection was a collection of comics I was all too familiar with.

"You read Martin Banda's work?" I asked, the shocke evident in my voice. I stood back up with one of the romance comics in hand, paging through the beautiful illustrations included in the book.

"I do." Koffi said, standing much closer now. "He happens to be my teammate's cousin."

"Chimwemwe's," I said, "I'm aware."

"You know a lot about the KC Stars." he observed, taking a seat on the couch, which I mimicked, plopping down next to him.

"...And you read the most romantic comic I've ever come across." I said, bringing the subject back to the book in my lap.

He smirked and shook his head, turning slightly to me. "Okay, let's have the conversation you want to have, since you're not letting this go."

"I'm just curious." I shrugged. "For someone who doesn't want to be romantically involved with anyone, you sure do have a romantic bone in you."

"Even if I do, there's no need to complicate my life with actual romance when what I've been doing so far works for me." he said, his face so serious, I started to wonder what might have happened in the past for him to be this hell-bent on avoiding commitment.
