Evelyn had left Brahms alone to hunt for their prey. As she casually walks her way towards the first floor of the mansion. Despite her calm demeanor, her brain worked on how the night would end. She hates to admit it, but she knows now that she might have underestimated Malcolm and Greta. The game is lasting longer than planned.
However, on the bright side. The fun last.
Letting out a giggle at the thought, she entered the living room and her eyes fell on the ex-boyfriend's body. Noticing how the pool of blood has expanded and slipped under the couches and furniture. She walks over to it, casually letting her heel submerge in the blood as she stares blankly at Cole.
"If I were Malcolm, where would I hide?" she mutters, "If I was pretty Greta, how well do I know this house?" her mind tried to answer her questions but her ears found the way first. The subtle creak coming from another room caught her attention. Looking up at the ceiling on the second floor, she knew it couldn't be Brahms as the male would proclaim his presence the moment he was near her.
"Kitchen it is," with that, she headed her way there. Her heels left behind a print of blood on her way to the destination. Being there first, her eyes followed the sounds of creaking, telling her she would soon meet with the causer of the noise.
She decided to take a seat on one of the chairs there, playing with the ends of her hair as she waited for them. Humming the 'hide and seek' nursing rhyme to calm her excitement. Then she caught the subtle light shining through the cupboards. Causing her to hum in surprise at this. The clear breathing of someone crawling through them to pass her. "Damn, how many hidden ways are in this house?" she giggles, finding it amusing but scoff soon after in anger.
Just when she was about to stand up and harshly slam the cupboards to scare them. Heavy footsteps follow behind her: Brahms here. Not bother to turn her attention to him as she watched the movement in the cupboard freeze. Brahms walked up to her, standing behind her as his hand went up to caress across the back of her neck. He quickly understood her body language, knowing she would only be this silent when her prey was close.
Brahms wanders around the room, his eyes roaming around for any sign of Malcolm and Greta. He doesn't want to get Evelyn more annoyed than she already is. His step is heavy and loud, showcasing how eager and angry he is for them. Evelyn had moved over to the electricity box which ironically was in the kitchen out of the whole mansion. Pulling on a single switch causes everything to turn pitch-dark.
DARKNESS. Greta and Malcolm freeze. Greta drops the knife and raises a shaking hand to her mouth, stifling a scream that comes out as a WHIMPER... Brahms was fast to catch this, but his eyes weren't able to detect their presence yet. A CREAKING SOUND Footsteps. It's impossible to tell where they're coming from. Evelyn and Brahms were taunting them.
The SOUND OF SOMETHING FALLING with a CRASH. And then, in a soft, almost childlike voice calling for Greta like you might for some pet. It was Evelyn: "Greta... Come out pretty Greta..." her voice to close to them as if she knew where they were but decided to play with their heart.
Greta and Malcolm crouch down on the floor, they have to move but silently. Evelyn is sharper than she looks and more dangerous. They can't stay. "You've been naughty..." They move as quietly as possible, but at this point, they can't even move an inch without causing Evelyn to turn her head to them.
Well, Brahms was getting frustrated, his footsteps rushing throughout the whole room. Haunting them. "Come out... Evie just wants to play... I won't hurt you..." The two hiders were somehow able to tip-toe down the passageway, as slowly and as serenely as they could when Malcolm brushes against something. A small bell hung on the inside of the wall. One of the hundreds of little trinkets Brahms has decorated his space with.
A SLIGHT TINK. Not much. But enough. "RUN!" Malcolm yelled, but they were too late. Brahms had SLAMS through the wall just behind them. He doesn't make it all the way through, but enough to grab Greta by the hair.
Greta screams her heart out in fear. Evelyn's giggles can be heard but instead of coming from outside, they can be heard in the passageway they were hiding. Malcolm knew that the moment Evelyn reached them, it was game over.
"Shit!" Malcolm leaps on Brahms in a flash. Stabs him in the shoulder, the blade sinking deep. Brahms SCREAMS, let's go of Greta. But before Malcolm can pull away, Brahms grabs his knife hand and BITES down like some crazed animal.
"GO! GO!" Malcolm screamed for Greta. Evelyn's voice is only a second before she reaches them. Greta hesitated before her feet reacted first, especially when her eyes caught Evelyn's at the end of the passage. Malcolm jerks his hand away from Brahms. Having just a second of freedom before Evelyn latches on his back using her weight to cause him to fall back.
Just as all this happened, it all ended too. Malcolm lies on the floor gasping, leaning his back against Evelyn. His shirt beginning to stain with blood. "Caught you~" she teases against his ears, a bloodied knife now wrapped around his neck causing a line of blood trailing already.
Malcolm froze like a deer in headlights, "P-Please..." too afraid to move an inch more as Evelyn giggled in his ears. Brahms struggles his way through the wall, punching a bigger way and pushing himself with all his might through the splintered drywall. With just a second eye contact with Evelyn, he rushes after Greta.
