"Sun goes down and we are here together
Fireflies glow like a thousand charms
Stay with me and you can dream forever
Right here in my arms tonight".(The closest pic I could get for Illeana!)
And with that, Illeana closed the book she was reading.
"Man.. it's so beautiful... those lines... I hope that someday.. the hero of my story would speak the same for me.. it would be so romantic..."
She hugged the book close to her heart and the lightning stroke, that's when she came out of her imaginative world. She sighed.
"But unfortunately, it would never come true. Being the hopeless romantic freak I am.. no one would date me in this generation, why God? Why did you send me in this generation?"
She had always complained to God about her being born in the gen z. Because she had realised that she would not get those same fictional men she read in the books she read.
"Illeana! You are coming down for your breakfast or I need to drag you down?"
Her mom yelled from the kitchen.
She sighed again."Back to the realistic world!" She thought to herself and went down.
.
After her breakfast she left for her college with her friend Diana.
Diana has been her best friend since their first year of college. They both are like each other's soulmates. As soon as they entered the college, every sight was on them, more specifically, on Illeana.
"It's a privilege to come to college with you! God has made me the second lead in real life too!"
Diana mocked her, while she laughed.
"Don't worry! There will be someday when a handsome, perfectly built up body, rich and famous man would fall head over heels for you!"
Illeana assured her while Diana just gave her a "enough of your drama" look!
After completing the classes of their first half they went to the cafeteria to have lunch. Diana was dreamingly telling about their convocation, while Illeana chose to eat silently because she knew when it came to the convocation party, she would never stop for someone to keep their perspective as well. She laughed at her own thoughts.
"Do you think I am joking or something?" Diana asked getting frowned.
"No no! It's not like that... it's --"
"Hey! Would you mind me sitting here?"
A boy approached them with his plate.
"Would you mind the answer 'no' from us?"
Illeana replied in the same tone he asked. Being disheartened he went to another table.
"God! I am done for! Till the time you are with me, I am not getting any boy in my life for sure!"
Diana cried..
"Don't worry man! You would get someone!" Illeana said suppressing her laughter.
"Yes! Sure! By you accepting to each and every guy friendshipping with us.. I would get a marvellous match for me!" Diana said sarcastically while Illeana gulped her food innocently.
"Man he was so handsome."
Illeana nodded in disbelief as Diana continued drooling over the boy!
After they completed their lunch they went back for their classes.
.
It was almost 7 at night when finally they were free. Illeana went with Diana for having some Street foods as they were craving for it. After having some tasty and yummy paani puris , they left for their respective homes.
As Illeana reached home, she opened her shoes out and entered. As soon as she did that, she looked everyone chirping like never before.
"Woah, what happened? Something big I guess!"
Her mom ran to her and engulfed her.
"Guess what!" She looked excited
"What?"
"My best friend Malini's elder son is getting married!!!!" She chirped..
Which made Illeana confused,
"Oka..aay... congratulations to him.. why are you so excited as if it's your son getting married?"
She finally asked it... to which her mom's excitement doubled.
"Idiot! I found a match for him na!"
Fear unlocked in Illeana's face.
"It's not me right?"
But she got confused as to why her mother was laughing.
"You? And for Jack?? Are you crazy? I am sorry! But I am not! I have got him an even better girl!" She said..
"Did you just insult me?"
"Naahhh.. how can I do that to my daughter??" She was still laughing.
Sighing Illeana went up to her room to freshen up. Insults are something which is quite common in their household. After getting fresh she lay down again to read another book. Hearing a knock on her door she got annoyed.
"Pleasee come in!" She said annoyingly. She has always been annoyed whenever someone tries to disturb her from reading.
She saw her mom coming inside and took out a bag from her wardrobe.
"Are we going somewhere?" Illeana asked.
"Yes! Tomorrow, we are going to your aunt's house for the wedding, we need to attend at least two functions! We will return on Monday!" Her mom said.
"Gracefully wasting my weekends!" Illeana stated.
"That you would've done anyways by reading your books!" Her mom taunted.
"Pleasee!!! Books are my life! Reading them is not a waste of time! Now one more word for my book I won't go with you all!" Illeana threatened her.
"Okay then stay alone!"
That was the point where she realised that she was not important. Her mom laughed and came to her!
"Pack your bags we will be leaving tomorrow morning!"
Illeana nodded reluctantly and started reading her book. She was reading with full concentration until a book came and hit her.
"Pack your bag by this night! Otherwise you'll see!" Her mom threatened her which was enough for her to get down the bed and start packing for the wedding.
"Just wait for some more time my love! After doing this weird task I will be returning to you soon!" She said to her book and started packing!
