I smiled strongly as I walked with my friend, Hina, to her house where I would be spending the night. We chatted all the way to her place and stopped instantly when we saw an unknown vehicle in the driveway. A black car.

"Who's car is that?" She looked at me and shrugged. Her long blue hair had come out of the pretty buns she made by this time. Suddenly, we heard a thud and hid quickly. This would be a moment I'd never forget.

Me and Hina climbed into her father's car to hide. We heard a few gunshots and blood splattered across the windows of the car as we covered our mouths to cover our screams. The car doors suddenly opened, and Hina was dragged out. Screaming, she flailed her arms and legs everywhere to try and get out of his grasp.

She was stabbed. Multiple times. Blood covered the car and my face. Her cries echoed through the empty lands. No one heard her but me and the two men standing on either side of the car. She was stabbed until he finally shot her in the head to kill her.

The men left, and I called the police as quickly as I could. There Hina was. Dead in front of me. Eyes half open, her once bright green eyes, colorless. No movement. Blood everywhere. That moment would be forever engraved in my head.

The police arrived, and I was wrapped in a blanket, still stunned. Ren came over and hugged me without looking at the horrible scene. I heard so much noise, but I heard none of it as well.

"Suki?" I heard Ren's voice and snapped out of the flashback. Tears poured down my cheeks, eyes wide, and red, in horror. I expected the Shaman Fight to be rough, but I didn't expect Hao to kill the X-Laws.

"Let's go get some water for you." Ren pulled me out of the stadium. I didn't watch most fights after that.

"Are you sure you're alright, Suki?" Yoh asked with concern. "You seem pretty down, and it's been a while since that fight.." I leaned back on the bench to tilt my head toward the sky. "I'm just fine. It's just something I haven't quite recovered from yet. It's nothing to worry about, Yoh." I replied, turning my head towards him with a smile.

I remembered Hina for almost a second before she faded out of my mind once again, her same lifeless expression flooding my mind. It wouldn't have happened if we were any later to her house. The memory haunted me.

I sat on a rock at the top of an open hill. The breeze blew my hair along with it as I closed my eyes in deep thought. I heard a stick snap and turned to see Hao behind me. "Hao-sama? What are you doing here?" I asked while fully turning to face him. It felt weird to look him in the eyes after the earlier event. "I was just on a walk, and you?" He replied, and I paused for a moment. "Clearing my mind." I smiled and turned away.

He sat next to me with a worried expression. "The earlier fight.. Did I scare you by any chance?" I was almost startled by the sudden question as I turned my head to look at him, and he turned away his. "Just triggered a flashback.. Not a good one, though." I gripped onto my knees. Hina crossed my mind again. "Hina was a good friend of mine," I started. "I lost her a while back to two strange unknown men when we went to her house. I should've died with her, too. I don't know why they let me live." A frown crossed my face, and I felt Hao's hand through my hair in a comforting stroke.

He was silent for a second, and then he stood. "We should get going. It's late." He reached his hand to me to help me down. I took his hand and started to walk back with him.

I couldn't wrap my mind around why he had to be the villain. He was so nice to me, and he was usually so gentle.  His touch was super comforting, too. It just felt like we had some sort of connection. But from what?

We stopped eventually and said a quick goodbye to each other before parting ways. He looked troubled. Maybe he was upset about triggering my flashback of Hina's death. Either way, it was over now, and there was nothing I could do about it.

I opened the door, and to my surprise, I saw Ren pacing back and forth. "Suki! Where were you?!" He asked immediately. "Just clearing my mind on a walk. I needed some air, too." He let out a sigh of relief and smiled. "Were you waiting for me?" I tilted my head as Ren rolled his eyes. "Duhh. I'm not gonna let my younger twin sister go on a walk outside without being worried that she might be BRUTALLY MURDERED. Hina was a good example."

He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the living room and into our shared bedroom. "Go to sleep. We have to be up early tomorrow." I nodded, and soon enough, fell asleep. Tomorrow would be a better day to tell him about my chat with Hao.

/I AM SO SORRY IT TOOK THIS SO LONG! I have like really bad issues when it comes to what I do and actually doing it, and motivation was an issue too. Also, school is a problem. I'm trying to be more frequent with updates, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Hang in there with me, guys!/
