Puck: "Aaaaand Shamak!"

Kakine: "Sha—What??"
‎ ‎ ‎

The esper reacted in surprise as he suddenly saw some sort of dark smoky cloud envelope the area.

The size was comparable to a cumulonimbus. Showcasing that Puck still has a ton of mana to spare. Seeing this, Kakine braced himself by quickly crossing his forearms in front of his face.

Once he was inside the cloud, the esper quickly shifted his eyes from left to right, analyzing if there was an unknown component within this darkness that could potentially harm him.

He was in a different world after all, so he wanted to prepare himself for any magical shenanigans.

Kakine: (Did that fur-ball create smog? No... it can't be. I don't feel any physical sensation akin to itching or burning in my eyes or lungs.)
‎ ‎ ‎

Not that it would negatively affect him anyways, but he would notice it at the very least.

Kakine: (How does a smoke cloud relate to fire magic? Unless... Does he have more than one magic affinity...?)
‎ ‎ ‎

He was willing to accept any and all possibilities. But even without knowing, Kakine hit the nail on the head.

Kakine already knew that this is just a cloud created through magic means, but he became curious about something else after observing that this cloud only obstructed his vision. Something that he could easily overcome.

But If it wasn't supposed to affect him negatively, then what was the point of it?

Kakine: (...Was this a distraction?)
‎ ‎ ‎

Once this idea popped into his head, he used his Dark Matter to generate an explosion similar to the one he used in his fight against Rem, though on a larger scale in order to blow away all these dark clouds — Which worked.
‎ ‎ ‎

━━*BOOM*

‎ ‎ ‎

After the clouds dispersed, Kakine looked to his left and right but saw no sign of Puck. However, he noticed a surge of violent winds picking up.

He didn't acknowledged it at first because he thought those winds were caused by his own explosion, but in truth, it was because of Puck.

Kakine: (Where is...?)
‎ ‎ ‎

As he remained in the sky, the esper turned his body around and can see the main source of these violent winds.

— It was a massive whirlwind with sparks of electricity flying all around.
