Sophie was really freaked out by what was happening. She tried not to think about it too much. She tried to go back to sleep and convince herself it was just a dream. Which, I mean, no shit, but she was trying to cope. After she went to the bathroom for like the fourth time that morning, she realized she couldn't see out of the eye that had detached in the dream. Eventually, her screaming got so loud that Jolie had to go to her room. She saw the scar was bleeding a lil bit, and took her to the bathroom to get her bandaged up, which was difficult for some reason. Hazel, Nico, and Will were there as well.
"So like, what exactly happened?" Hazel asked. Sophie knew she was trying to be nice, but she was still pretty pissed. She retold the entire sequence for like the third time. "Maybe that was just what you dreamt about and it means nothing, and that scar is just you falling off the bed, and the eye thing is just stress," Will said not very helpfully. "Okay, because that makes sense," Nico and Sophie almost said at the same time. Jolie was desperately trying to bandage it, but was failing horribly. Hazel was yelling at Nico and Will for not being "supportive" while one of their friends was suffering, but Sophie really didn't care. Her eye hurt and her head hurt and she just wanted to fall asleep without having to worry about being or not being her.
"What have the past dreams been about?" Will randomly asked. Sophie described the hallway, the bathroom door, the staircase, and the clock which was still on her mind for some reason. "But nothing would happen in those dreams. I would just walk, fall down the stairs, banging on the door every once in a while, and that was it," Sophie finished. Hazel had a notepad and was taking notes. Nico just existed. Will had pulled up a chair and was listening intently.
"Can you see out of your left eye at all?" Jolie asked. Sophie shook her head, which messed up the bandages. "Did you feel like you were actually dying and bleeding out and all that terrible stuff?" Jolie asked as she redid the bandages. "Yeah, it felt really bad, but it felt like I was experiencing it for a while, so it wasn't as bad. But when my eye detached, it didn't hurt at all. It felt like it was already loose and just... I don't know how to explain it but it didn't hurt."
The room went silent for a moment.
"Okay.. That's- That's creepy. Really creepy," Hazel said. "Yeah, I think we're gonna have to-" Nico shushed everyone. They looked at him. "Do you hear that?" he asked. "I don't hear anything," Hazel said. Sophie paused, and said, "Wait.. I hear it now. It's like.. screaming." There was silence more as they all listened. "Oh yeah, I hear it now," Jolie and Hazel said at the same time. There was silence once more. Will got up to see who was screaming, but then there was banging on the door (not the bathroom door, that's open. the bedroom door). It was really loud. They all got up and Will went to open the door. Nico pulled him back and they all hid in the closet. There was screaming mixed with sobs.
"Let me go, we gotta open the door!" Will said. "Yeah, well, if you would just shut up and listen, you would understand that whatever this thing that is haunting me may very well be actual!" Sophie hissed. Nico nodded. Jolie just listened at the door. Hazel was very tense.
After what seemed like an eternity, the noises stopped. They all cautiously exited the closet. Sophie locked the door and they all checked around, locking the windows and such.
"Sophie, you better get out the mattresses because I think you know this, but we are not leaving this room knowing that that thing is real and in our," Jolie said. Sophie nodded and sighed. She was very pale and very dizzy, but she knew for a fact that they wouldn't be leaving her room for a while.
