After exiting the elevator, we walked down the pearly white hallway and stopped in front of a door at the end of the hallway.
"This is it, room 308," Lindy smiled at me as I glanced around the hallway one more time. It looked like a hotel.
"Here's your key card." She finished. Is this some kind of hotel apartment, because it sure looks like one.
"Thanks.""No problem, just call me if you need anything." She paused.
"Shall do." I walked closer and unlocked the door when she quickly added, "I know Shelly would have already given you provisions, but I bought a few more just in case and if you run out of anything, come to me and we'll go shopping together." She smiled at the end.
I... I did not expect this. She really didn't have to.
"You didn't have to,""Oh, it was nothing. Now go in and get some rest."
I thanked her once more before entering the room. The apartment was quite big and was already furnished. I dropped my bag and box in the living room and ventured into the kitchen, which was also big. I saw some bags that were filled with cereal, noodles, eggs, juice, and a pack of bottle water. I'm sure my aunt doesn't know this.
I took my things and entered the bedroom room, which was spacious. I was really glad that everything was already furnished, making me wonder again if this was a hotel apartment. I removed my shoes and immediately climbed the bed. It sure has been a long day... with so many people being nice and helping me...
THE NEXT DAY
I woke up to the sound of my alarm, and after snoozing it a few times, I decided to start my day.
After I finished preparing and arranging a few of my provisions in it right place, I had breakfast. Which was just cereal. I checked the time, and it was around seven thirty. I also saw some missed calls from my aunt and uncle, so I just texted them that I'm on my way to school and that I'll talk to them when I get back.
I left my apartment and made my way to the reception until I faced a little setback or thought. How do I get there?
And I didn't have anyone's number to ask for help, like Nicky or Larry, but I probably shouldn't, I've caused them more trouble than deserved.
I left the elevator and made my way to the receptionist, Lindy. She knows my aunt so surely my aunt would have told her about my school, right? Instead of thinking too much about it, I decided to just go ask her.
"Excuse me, good morning," I greeted with a smile. And as soon as she saw me, a warm smile appeared on her face.
"Good morning kiddo, how was your night?" She responded nicely.
"It was okay, thanks for asking." I replied.
"Shouldn't you be heading to school right now?" She asked as she examined me, making my task a bit easier.
"Well, the thing is, I don't really know where it's located, and I was hoping if you could help me out."
She stared at me before saying, "ah, that's right," she snapped her fingers together. Then she paused as if thinking. I waited there, a little embarrassed, and started fidgeting my thumbs. The sound of the elevator opening distracted us as our attention was turned to the person that came out.
The moment somewhat felt surreal. A tall, thin, beautiful girl came out of the elevator. She was wearing a school uniform. A red above the knee skirt, a plain white t-shirt with a red bow falling around her neck and a somewhat black blazer. She had beautiful long, wavy blonde hair that fell across her shoulder, which complimented her small, thin face. Her blue eyes had a bit of sparkle as if diamonds were placed in them, which also went well with her fair skin and light pink a bit full lips. She looked just like a model, an angel... she was gorgeous.
Oops, she caught me staring.
As soon as Lindy saw her, she immediately called for her.
"Good morning Lind's," the girl greeted.
Her voice, there's no way, upon looking beautiful, she had an angelic like voice too... it came out soft yet teasing but pleasing to hear at the same time... something's in life is way too unfair.
"Morning," Lindy greeted back.
The way she walked was just like a model. Before she reached where I was at the reception, I could already perceive her perfume. It smelled like flowers. Flowers that had just blossomed on a spring morning.
"You go to Future Wise Academy, right?" Lindy asked me, knocking me out of my daydream.
"Oh- uh, yes I do." I answered.
"Good. Lillian meet Stella." She introduced.
"Um... hi," I said awkwardly.
"Stella, this is Lillian. She's new here, and she just so happens to go to your school."
"Oh," Stella replied, uninterested.
"She doesn't know the way to the school because she's new and all--"
"Let me guess, you want me to be an angel and show her the way," she interjected. Her tone came off a bit rude, but Lindy just smiled and sighed.
"Until she gets used to the way and how things work. So, will you?" Lindy asked,
"Sure, whatever," Stella replied.
"Thanks a bunch, Stella."
"Yeah, I am an angel after all," she smiled, revealing her dentures, but it felt more like a scoff.
On top of her angelic like voice and appearance, something about her was a bit off to me. Like I was expecting a nice girl but got... well... yeah... but I just pushed away the thought and tried to smile.
She turned to me. "What are you looking at? Come on." she started walking ahead.
"Stella, be nice."
"I am nice."
Yeah, the off feeling came back. But I pushed it away as I followed her behind. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
