I guess the man kept to his promise. Mom hasn't been coming back late anymore.

"Alright, flower, it's time for bed," my mom told me, and I waved at my dad.

We were doing face time, and he said he'll be back real soon, so I couldn't hide how giddy I was.
"Goodnight, dad. I love you!" I bless a kiss at the phone.

"Love you too, flower," I heard him say.

Ugh, I miss him so much. I wish he could just pass through the phone and stay with us.

I wish I could just pass through the phone to meet him.
I ran upstairs to my room and shut the door. Before I climbed on the bed, I saw my pink notebook open.

I looked inside and remembered when my aunt and I planned the school I'll be attending.
I looked through it and paused at the list of high schools I wrote down.

Future Wise Academy.

Hmm, I don't know if my mom will even let me school there because it's all the way in Germany. My dad might agree... would he? I wonder.

I closed the notebook and dropped it aside as I tucked myself in for bed.

I sighed as I saw who was at the door.

Does this man seriously not have anything doing at home? No chores? No hobbies? Really?

"Hey there, Lilley," he smiled, and I could almost believe it was fake.

Is he just bored? Does our house look like a playground?

I closed the door and rushed to my mom, who was in the kitchen.
"Mom, he's here again," I informed her, and I could see the exhaustion on her face hearing that. I almost laughed. "He doesn't have friends?"

"Seems like it," she sighed and put on her professional smile and went towards the door.

Seriously, what's his problem?
Coming almost every Saturday with gifts, even after my mom said he shouldn't.

He'd never enter inside our house, though. He'd just sit out in the little chair and table in the porch while my mom tried to chase him away.

He's like an annoying mosquito, honestly.

I walked to our little garden and water the flowers. The ones I could anyway while my mom tried to chase him away again.

I even suggested we move houses because of how annoyingly frequent he visits like we're his relatives or something.

When I walked out, my mom gave me a tray to hold as she went in to get something. I waited by the table and immediately saw how his stare followed my mom.

He always does that.
Does he have a crush on her? He shouldn't, though. She's married! And even if she wasn't, he'll be the last person she would even consider for marriage.

I shivered at that thought.

I can't believe I just grossed myself out.

"Your dad isn't back yet?"

Is he trying to form a conversation?
He always asks this.

"He is," I replied.

I know lying is bad, but... he is just as weird for asking me this every time. Does he wants to give my dad a job? Why does he keep asking of him?

I reject the job offer for my dad.

"Where is he?"
I saw an odd look on his face. I have never seen that look before. Odd.
