Soon after the literature class ended, after she said goodbye to Artemis, she tried to catch up to Jayden. She rushed and stood in front of him as he was about to reach for the door to the roof.
"What?"
"Listen, just answer me this," she tried catching her breath. "Are you and William friends?"
He adjusted his stance.
"Have your interest change? From asking me if I know you to this?"
She nearly face palmed. "Just answer me,"
He leaned forward a bit. "No."
"Do you really expect me to believe that?"
"Why ask when you already know the answer," he tried walking past her, but she stopped him.
"So, you are friends?" She tried clarifying.
"No," he answered again, his lip curved up slightly into a smirk.
She shook her head. "Why did I even think you'll be of any help?"
"First, you hang out with Melvin, and now you ask me about William. You interest me, Lilley." he turned and relaxed his back on the side of the door, a small grin on his lips.
"How... how did you know I hung out with Melvin?" She eyed him. "And I don't remember telling you my name either."
"I remember things," he mused.
Remember? Remember what exactly?! I never told my name! As she was about to say something, the door opened, revealing William.
"You couldn't wait for another minute?" Jayden said without turning to see who it was.
William eyes widened a bit upon seeing Lilley before he recovered and smiled.
"You were taking long, and I got bored,"
Lilley blinked.
"Oh, um, I didn't know you were waiting for him," she nearly choked.
William only smiled, which made her recall Melvin's word.
"Are we done here?" Jayden words snapped her back.
"What?" She blinked.
"Are we not? Would you like to talk some more?" He tilted his head a bit.
She bit her lips slightly.
"We're done... for now,"
William raised a brow as he watched her walk away.
"Who would have thought she would talk to you despite all the rumours?"
"Aren't you talking to me, though?" Jayden removed some of his hair from his eyes.
William glanced at him and tapped his shoulder.
"Maybe later,"
"I came up here for nothing then?"
William shrugged. "I have a class to get to," he paused and turned back. "You really are good at your act,"
Jayden grinned.
"Is that a compliment?"
"I'm just giving credit where is due," he turned back. "Go to your next class, Jayden,"

I knew it! She nearly skipped. They are friends.
She stopped. But I thought everyone was steering clear from him. Why was William with him then? And how the hell does he know my name? She clicked her tongue. Creep.
She walked into her next class that she had with Axel, and he was already seated.
"Hey," she greeted and sat beside him.
Ever since that first day when they sat together, she've been sitting beside him, but it wasn't like he complained about it either.
