Double Date Chapter and the Matchmaker Chapter
"Why do I have to meet Sarah? You know damn well I don't like going out," He says in a grumpy tone.
"Because, I have a surprise for you." I say with small laughter.
We are at the mall. I guess me and Sarah came up with this matchmaking plan. We were both trolls. Sarah and Rachel were going to be at the mall conveniently. I was going to tell Kane I was bringing him to meet Sarah. Who he really came to meet was Rachel.
What I didn't know, was how it would play out.
I walked to where Sarah told me they would be at. The card store, where all versions of cards where. Sports cards, Pokemon cards, Yugioh cards, you name it. Kane was into sports cards, while I'm pretty sure Rachel was more into Pokémon and Yugioh. But Kane was more averse to the fact that he was in this store, he was more in denial about being a nerd.
We walked in. I was walking around. Trying to find them. Until Kane found them before I did and saw them.
"Woah." He stood there for a second and saw Rachel. "Your girl is hot as fuck." He points at Rachel. "I mean both of them are hot, but-"
I laughed at him for a couple minutes. "That's not her, that's her friend."
"My cutie is the dirty-blonde one." I say. "The black haired girl is Rachel."
"Well." He sighs. "Can we leave?"
"What?" I look at him nuts. "Why?"
"You said I was meeting Sarah. There's another girl there. I can't meet her like this." He points down at his Tims (work boots) and his work uniform,"I look like Luigi's and Mario's sneaky brother who owns the dealership down the road."
"Kane, you are being silly. I see my crush I want to talk to her. And you are coming with."
Kane sighed. He was stubborn, but he knew he wasn't winning his fight today. He followed after me.
I tap on Sarah's shoulder and smile. "Hey."
"Hi!" She smiles to see me.
Kane stands to the side of me awkwardly. His name tag sits out, and it's greased in oil. Kane works too much.
"Hey, Rachel," I start the matchmaking process already, "This is-"
Kane becomes animated. "Kane." He shakes her hand, almost as if they are about to be business partners. But he's kind of shaking her hand for too long, probably staring at her.
Rachel laughs a bit, taken back a bit. And mimics him.
"Rachel." She shakes her hand, over-exaggerating his handshake.
He smiles a bit. "I guess you go to MU," He says, trying to strike up conversation.
"Yeah," She smiles. "I major in childhood education. I'm trying to be a teacher for special needs."
"I work at my dad's auto repair business," He says.
"Which one?"
"J&K Auto Repair."
"That's where my twin brother car is at, I think he's getting a new brakes and an alternator, I don't remember though."
"I'm working on that car. I can get him a discount." He says.
"No it's okay," She smiles, "Your work is worth a lot. I could never accept it, especially for my twin brother."
"No-," He says, "I insist. It's my work."
"That would be really sweet of you." She shyly smiles. "How would I even repay the favor?"
"You don't have to do anything. Because I'm offering it. But you could repay me by going out with me. If you wanted to, obviously. If not, no need then."
She blushes. "Awwh. I'll repay you in that way. My brothers gotta repay me after."
He laughs. "Definitely."
I elbow Sarah. I whisper, "Look at me. I get it from my lil sis. Matchmaking king."
She rolls her eyes. "You are just lucky it worked out, I don't know how." She whispers back.
