"I think I would rather die of starvation than eat only meat every time."
The statement came from the woman in white, hair now tied in a slick ponytail stylishly, swirling her usual apple juice in her wine glass. She only ate some brownies, not really longing for actual food. Her legs were crossed, her chin in her palm, elbow propped on the table, watching the male stuff his face with plain meat in a small grimace.
He hummed, preoccupied with the source of his protein intake, barely chewing on it before swallowing it.
"I could say the same about your sweet tooth."
"Touché." She sighed, having no bounds for an argument, she agreed.
Although they were there in the restaurant to wind off, which worked out well for Tokita, Nova still couldn't help but let her mind run circles around everything that has been happening to her the past two days or so.
Her leg started bouncing as she zoned out, her hand unconsciously stroked the surface of the glass with her thumb. Ohma felt the disarray of motions coming from beside him, his eating halted, putting down the fork. He stared at her emotionless face, eyes staring into nothing, he swears he could see her brain running marathons. He reached over, softly patting the top of her head, which pulled her back to reality, letting out a hum as she looked at him questioningly.
"Stop overthinking so much, it's unhealthy." He said in his usual tone, though his eyes carried a certain softness in them, his hand still on top of her head as he spoke.
This was the type of care that fueled her heart. The heart that has been longing to be loved right for years. She felt her heart thumping, only nodding as the butterflies reawakened in her belly.
She was just hoping she won't end up throwing them up again.
Although she appreciated his sudden care for her, she just shook her head, softly sliding his hand off, playing with his fingers on the table as she thought."I wish it was that easy." She said out loud in a small whisper.
To Ohma, it sounded like the easiest thing to do. In Ohma logic, he couldn't understand how someone who seemed so smart, couldn't just not stop thinking whenever it was needed, especially when things always get figured out at the end, and they knew that as well.
He remembered how the last time she was in a similar position, all he had to do was be there for her and have some small conversation, and that seemed to help at the end.
Now, Ohma wasn't the best at holding or starting conversations, since it was others who started them all the time, but it wouldn't hurt him to try at least."Why is your name Nova?"
Great. That was the best he could come up with.
He felt his face heat up in embarrassment as she narrowed her eyes at him, but lit up shortly after, propping herself up to sit straight."Actually, I got it from Supernovas." She spoke with a toothy smile, while the male just blinked at her.
"I assume you don't know what those are. Lucky for you, I'm a sucker for astrology and space things.
A supernova is a very powerful and luminous explosion of a star. They're so bright, their luminosity could sometimes be compared to an entire galaxy...My dad said when during our training, I was just as explosive, and had just as bright of a future regarding martial arts, like an entire galaxy. I was a quick learner, maybe that's why."
She explained, her eyes glinting with joy the whole time she spoke.
Although he didn't understand the big words, he got the gists of it. He was quite interested in this astrology thing now and how she fights, feeling like he wanted to know more, but a specific detail caught his attention.Usually, your name is given to you at birth, sometimes even before that, and babies can't fight, meaning, she got her name later in life. Just as he was about to question it, she was quicker.
