This chapter takes place in the near future of the book. Not the current time line. But I needed to continue the tradition of Halloween specials in my series!

------------------------------------------

Halloween, a holiday that kids always looked forward to. Not Tommy, He would have to deal with Karen's demanding the holiday special. Sure, he does have a holiday special, it's just annoying having to make it again and again and again! Tommy was behind the counter at Innits café, having just given a group of teens their drinks, them chatting and laughing at random different things in their conversations. The others were working upstairs. There wasn't anyone in the café, everyone just getting their drinks and leaving. The bell on the door rang as another person walked into the building.

"Wilbur, what are you doing here?" I asked, looking at the tall brunet suspiciously.

"Can't I come by to see my favorite gremlin?" He asked. Rolling my eyes and huffing in annoyance I leaned against the counter.

"What do you want, Will?" Wilbur laughed before walking forwards and ruffling my hair.

"Nothing much, I was telling the truth when I told you I wanted to see you. My house was getting a bit too lonely." I frowned.

"Don't you live with your dad and brother? Where are they?" I asked.

"They are working. They don't even get holidays off sadly." Wilbur sounded a bit sad, trying to hide it. Frowning even more I started to prepare Wilbur a drink. Something nice and warm for the cold weather outside.

"That's unfortunate. I'm glad you came over, get out of that lonely house king! The amazing Tommy will cheer you up!" Snickering, I continued to make the drink.

"I'm going to take a break after I make your drink, one of my friends can take my shift." Wilbur looked shocked.

"What!? No! You don't have to do that for me! I can just chill here!" Laughing I shook my head.

"Believe me big man, I need the break. I have been mixing the same drinks over and over again. Let me have this." Wilbur huffed before agreeing. Giving him his drink I texted Ranboo to take my shift. Me and Wilbur left once the ender hybrid walked behind the counter, looking slightly annoyed.

We walked in comfortable silence, kids dressed up in costumes running around, trick or treating even as the sun was still high in the sky.

"SHROUD! Slow down! I can't run that fast!" A young Racoon hybrid ran right past me. I froze as a feeling of recognition flashed in my mind.

"NUH UH! You're a slowpoke Clem!" A spider Hybrid shouted from ahead. The two children were giggling.

"DAD! Shrouds being mean again!" The life I used to have, the two kids I used to protect as they meant the world to me

"Shroud, be kind to your sister."

"I did nothing wrong! She was trying to get me to play tea party with her again! I don't want to have to play tea party with the mafia again!"

"Clem, what have I told you about forcing random criminals to play with you. I get you can gaslight, gatekeepe girlboss or whatever. But please not in the house. Last time when you got villains to play monopoly with you they broke the table." My children. How could I ever forget I used to have children. My two kids.

"You're the worst brother ever!" Shaking my head to snap out of the old memory, I looked on. The Racoon hybrid huffed as she caught up with her brother. They both walked, talking to each other in raised voices. Another person passed by me.
