Leaning against the counter I scrolled through my phone. It was a slow day in the café. There were more people upstairs, but not as many considering School had just started.
Sighing in boredom I turned off my phone and slid onto the floor. It's not like there was anyone in the cafe to see me lying down on the floor behind the counter anyways. Just as I thought that the bell on the door chimed.
"I'll be right with you in a moment!" Rolling over to get up I heard two young voices from the other side of the counter.
"Clem, are you sure this was a good idea to skip school? Ms.Puffy will be mad."
"Relax Shroud! Plus, aren't you supposed to be the older one? Have more confidence!" Freezing at hearing the two familiar names I slowly rose to look over the counter.
"Ah yes, I'm so confident in your totally reliable hunch that he would be here. Be realistic Clem, he probably wouldn't even recognize us if he was here anyways." A young boy with fluffy jet black hair spoke. He looked to be around nine years old. Fluffy bangs covered his red eyes. He had four arms and small mandibles poking out from the corners of his mouth.
"He would definitely know who we are! He just has to!" A young girl around seven yelled. She had light brown messy hair. Two Raccoon ears were poking out on the top of her head. A Racoon tail was swishing back and forth anxiously behind her.
Choking back a sob I stood up and cleared my throat, getting both children's attention.
"How can I help you two?" Pausing, I frowned as I looked at the time. "Aren't you two supposed to be in school?" Looking back at the two young hybrids I startled at the tears flowing from Clementine's eyes. Shroud had a mess of emotions on his face. From shock and horror to Sadness, longing and anger.
"Oh shit! Don't cry! Did I do something wrong?" Rushing around the counter I kneeled down in front of the two, wiping Clem's tears.
Without warning, Clementine launched herself into my arms, weeping as she held onto my shirt like a lifeline. She held onto me like if she were to let go I would disappear. Shroud joined into the hug, wrapping his four arms around my side, sobbing.
"Why are you two crying?" I was a hypocrite seeing as tears flowed from my eyes.
"Dad!" Shroud cried into my shirt. Small sobs and hiccups were heard as he held onto me desperately.
"We are your kids! Please remember! You have to remember! Please!" Clementine held onto my shirt pleadingly. She looked up at me, tears streaming down her face as she desperately tried to convince me. She didn't seem to think that me already remembering was a possibility.
I couldn't hold it any longer. A sob wracked my body as I wrapped them both in a hug.
"I know. Primes, I know. I'm so happy you two remember. And you both found me!" The three of us cried on the floor, just relishing in having each other again. My kids were back.
"Um... Is now a bad time?" I jolted, looking up. Tubbo was standing in the doorframe, looking awkward.
"Yes"
"Fuck off"
"No"
Three different answers were said. Clementine bit out her curse word as she glared at the newcomer. Shrouds 'yes' was a bit kinder, but accompanied with an annoyed glower. Tubbo shifted from one foot to the other uncomfortably.
"Sorry about my kids Tubbo." Smiling awkwardly I motioned him to come in.
"I thought that Racoon in the trash that you found was your child?" Tubbo laughed, remembering that from the previous timeline.
