Chapter 7
I was going to kill her. Or myself. Either one worked for me. I just couldn't take another second of this.
The school day had started off normal enough. Colton had insisted on walking me to my first class, saying it was to be polite but I knew he just wanted to avoid as much of his Calculus class as possible. And until 2nd period I'd been fine. However I'd had no idea before today that she was in my class.
"Oh my gosh! Olive! I had no idea we had classes together!" Kenzie had exclaimed before convincing the boy who normally sat next to me to trade seats with her.
I'd been stuck next to her for more than 30 minutes now. I'd been enduring all her stupid chatter and so far had succeeded in not snapping. No one had ever infuriated me this badly before; not even Colton. He seemed like an angel compared to this twit. I'd already heard about how the teacher's lipstick apparently was "so not the right shade" for her and how bright blue eyeliner didn't look good with her blue eyes; apparently it clashed or something. Then she'd gone on for 10 minutes on the teachers clothing. And then we had to critique the way the teacher was teaching.
"I mean gosh! It's so boring. She could at least try to be interesting. I hate math. It's so much work! I mean, I get that we're gonna need it when we're older and it's useful but when am I ever going to have to find the square root of pie?"
I had to refrain from informing her we were in English and were not discussing anything to do with math.
"But seriously, does she really expect us to read that book? It's like over 300 pages. And there are no pictures. I don't like reading books. I only like reading magazines." Cue the 10 minute spazzing over the latest celebrity scandal.
"And I'm just like, how could you break up with him!?! He's so hott. But yeah she's an idiot... but I still like love her..."
She just kept going on and on and on and my grasp on my desk just continued to tighten.
I was going to kill her... I wanted to kill her. Just to shut her up...
"I hope there's a movie on it. Hey, I have a great idea! We should go to the movies. There's this new romance movie with Jayden Hunter in it and-"
The bell suddenly rang.
I don't think I'd even run out of class so quickly.
"Hey Olive, wait up! I gotta grab my stuff!"
I tried to get though the people to get to my next class and debated my options. I could get to class 10 minutes early and just hang out till it started. Or I could hide out in the bathroom until she disappeared. I grew more panicked when I glanced over my shoulder and saw her catching up to me. I quickly rounded the corner and ducked down beside a trashcan.
"Olive?"
"Shhhhh!" I whispered, "She's after me."
Colton was looking at me completely confused, "Who?"
"Kenzie!"
"Olive? Why are you sitting on the ground?"
I breathed out a sigh of relief when I saw it was only Trey.
"Apparently Kenzie is after her."
Trey chuckled and shook his head, "Poor you."
Colton peeked around the corner, "I don't see her anymore. I think you're good. Time to walk you to class."
I scowled, "Why don't you walk Trey to class. You should be more worried about him not making it to class than me."
Colton turned to Trey, "Trey, would you like me to walk you to class?"
