4 | Assignment

By the way, Komaeda isn't an Angel from any specific religion. This story is not supposed to make fun of or invalidate anyone's religion at all. The God here isn't the Christian God or a God from any other religion, it's just some God I came up with for this. It's very important to me to respect every religion as long as it's not hurting anyone and you're not forcing it on anyone.

All of them were sitting on the grass now, talking. Komaeda wasn't used to so much noise. It was so loud. There was at least five conversations going on at once.

"Are you okay?" Hinata asked him.

"It's very noisy..."

The brunet put his hands over Komaeda's ears. "Everyone, be quiet! You're too loud for Komaeda!" He shouted. Everyone went quiet.

"Better?" Hinata asked Komaeda, taking his hands off of his ears.

"Mhm, thank you, Hinata-kun." He smiled sweetly.

"No problem,"

"I... think I should go back now. Earth is nice, but it's getting cold. Angels are sensitive here since we're not used to this kind of enviorment,"

"Then what's heaven like?" Souda asked.

"The temperature there is always just right. And the ground is made out of clouds. It is very beautiful. Father and I live together in the big palace,"

"Can we go there?" Saionji asked.

"I cannot just bring humans to heaven,"

"But could you?"

"I could, yes," He replied.

"Then why don't you? We won't bother anyone," Saionji told him.

"It is not allowed,"

"Why not?"

"Because father said so,"

"Huh?? That doesn't explain anything,"

"Saionji, he said no. Leave him alone," Hinata told her. "And if you're cold, you can have my jacket,"

"You're so kind, but I have wings. I cannot wear human jackets,"

"Oh, right. Then how are you wearing that gown?"

"The back is low cut. And I was created wearing it, so I never really put it on or took it off,"

"I see. Well, then you're gonna go home now, right?"

"I really should, I am sorry. I wish I could leave the forest with you, but father said I have to stay in the woods and it is cold here,"

Hanamura decided to take this as his chance. "Can I get a goodbye kiss?"

"A-a kiss?!" Komaeda shrieked, blushing.

"It's my wish. I wish that you would kiss me,"

Komaeda disappeared without a flash of light this time. He was just gone all of a sudden.

"Wow, good job, Hanamura," Hinata said sarcastically.

Hinata wanted to be friends with Komaeda outside of the forest too. He wanted to show Komaeda the world. The pale Angel seemed to know very little about human culture and he wanted to introduce him to it. He could take him out to get food or go to a festival and buy him a kimono, he could go to the beach with him, he could show him some video games, they could go to an amusement park and so much more! He just needed to get Komaeda's father to allow it.

But he couldn't just walk up to God's palace, knock on the door and go "Hey there, let me take your son out. I'll bring him home at eight.", could he?

He spend the entire next day at school thinking about ways to hang out with him. He even found himself drawing Komaeda on his paper during class.

"Hinata-san!" His art teacher said. "Are you even listening?"

"Uh, yeah,"

"Care to repeat what I just said?"

"Yeah, sure. Uh... you said "Hinata-san! Are you even listening?""

She let out a sigh. "Stay here after class. You're getting extra homework,"

"Huh?? 'Cause I wasn't paying attention for one second? That's so unfair!"

"I'm not arguing about this with you." She insisted. "Don't just go around drawing while I'm talking,"

"It's art class!"

"But drawing some girl sure as heck wasn't the assignment,"

"That's a boy,"

"Your boy looks like a girl,"

"That's rude." Hinata glared at her.

After the lesson, he stayed longer. "So, Hinata-san, what I need you to do is take photos,"

"Of what?"

"Places, things and people you find beautiful. And I want you to do it well. Get creative, because you're not. I can tell by your paintings that you're very stuck inside your own rules. I want you to do things that feel wrong and weird in this assignment, okay?"

"Fine... but this is so stupid..." Hinata groaned.
