The day had arrived that the space laser would be fired. The world leaders stood back in communication with the European Space Agency and Wilhelm gave the order "Fire!" From the space station they can see a massive green jet arch toward the Island of Sal in Cabo Verde. For a moment it looks like it will miss,but it hits its target bullseye. Video footage showed a massive explosion. And debris. The island began, crumbling into the ocean. Suddenly the whole island disappeared from the Satellite view. "It's gone" said Wilhelm, "that wasn't supposed to happen". He asks "What of the people?" August answered "the ones that weren't caught up in the blast and disintegrated probably drowned, General Mann can you estimate survivor count?" General Mann says "No Survivors". Wilhelm begins to tear up, he ordered the deaths of tens of thousands, he feels guilty. The rebels instantly surrender and give up their arms. That night, Wilhelm falls asleep and dreams of a green light arching though the sky hitting Berlin, destroying everything and everyone he loves in an instant. And he has another dream where he can't remove blood from his hands. He knows what he has to do.
