CHAPTER THREE"What's up with you? You mad far. Get closer," he said.
"Get closer for what, KayKay?"
"Just do it," he persisted.
"I'm already mad close. If I get any closer, Imma be in your fucking lap," she stated.
"So? Come here," he said as he loosened up his posture. He put his hands on her waist and started pulling her towards him.
She lifted herself slightly and sat in his lap. "Aight, I'm in your lap. Now what?" She asked.
"I peeped how you been looking at me. What you on, my heart?"
The girl shrugged and looked away, growing nervous under his gaze.
"Nah. Look at me," he said as he grabbed her chin and turned her face towards his. She looked into his eyes and felt as if he could see through to her soul. It felt strange but also oddly comforting.
"You fuck with me?" He asked.
"Yeah..."
"So why you ain't just say that, Kayla?" He asked as his eyes drifted down to her lips.
"I don't know."
He wrapped his hand around her neck. He pulled her closer and Kayla prepared herself for their lips to touch.

"The fuck?" Kayla asked herself when she was abruptly awakened from her sleep.
There was persistent knocking on her front door and she hurried of bed. She grabbed the gun off of her dresser and went to see was banging on her door. She checked the peephole and sucked her teeth when she saw who was behind the door. Kayla placed the gun in her waistband and opened the door.
"What you doing here, Sarina? It's mad early. Don't you have school or something?" Makayla asked her sixteen year old sister.
"No, Makayla! It's three in the afternoon and it's Saturday," she said as she walked into the apartment.
"It is? ...I gotta stop smoking," Makayla mumbled.
"Yeah, you do. I was waiting hours for you to come pick me up. I told you I need you to help me study today."
"My fault. Let me get myself together real quick."
"Okay," Sarina said before going to sit on the couch.
Once Makayla was ready for the day, she joined her sister back in the living room.
"The fuck is this shit?" Kayla asked when she saw what her sister was watching on her TV.
"Baddies East. Come watch an episode with me," Sarina said as she patted the spot next to her.
"If I ever see you acting like these bitches Imma fuck you up. I'm not paying that expensive ass private school tuition for you to turn out like this," Makayla said as she watched the argument unfold on the screen in front of them.
"I'm not. It's just entertainment. Now shh," she said.
"Oh aight. It better be," Kayla said quietly as she finally joined her sister on the couch.
Kayla tried giving the show a chance but she just wasn't fucking with it. She pulled her phone out and began replying to texts she'd missed while she was asleep.
"Who are you texting?" Sarina asked, curious when she noticed Kayla typing quickly on her phone.
"My mans."
