CHAPTER SEVENHours after he argued with Alexis, Kay was still arguing with her over the phone. He was out on the block like he said he would be, but instead of enjoying his day like he planned, he was miserable. The arguing had gone on so long that he couldn't stand to hear the sound of her voice anymore.
"Bro! You're on my dick! You're on her dick! For no reason too! She's in her crib minding her fucking business! She's not worried about you! She's probably working too. Some shit you need to be doing," Kay shouted angrily into the phone as he paced back and forth.
The situation was amusing to the group of boys that were also outside on the Sev with Kay. They weren't sure who or what he was yelling about so it was funny. But Makayla, who happened to live in the building that Kay was screaming underneath, was extremely annoyed.
A few feet away, Dougie was laughing while recording Kay. "This why I don't do relationships no more. Used to be out here just like this nigga," Dougie cackled. He stopped recording when he received a text from Kayla that made him laugh even harder. He jumped up from the passenger seat of Yagi's parked car, eager to deliver the message to Kay.
"Yo, Kay! Kayla said tell whoever is down there screaming to shut the fuck up before I punch him in his shit," Dougie told Kay just as he ended the shouting match with Alexis by hanging up in her face.
Kay's hand dropped to his side and he looked up at Kayla's window with his face scrunched up. He cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled, " Makayla, suck my dick!"
"Ooh, she bouta come down here and fuck you up!" Dougie said.
"Yeah right," Kay muttered before his attention was brought back to the phone buzzing in his hand. "Bitch mad annoying. What the fuck," he yelled, irritated by the influx of messages Lex was sending him.
He clicked on their messages, clicked on the mic, and lifted the phone closer to his mouth. "Get off my dick!" He sent the voice memo and clenched his jaw as he held down the buttons on the side of his phone to turn it off.
"Y'all always arguing," Dougie said.
"Cus she always tripping over stupid shit."
"What happened this time?" Dougie asked.
Kay's eyes wandered up again and lingered on Kayla's window. He sucked his teeth. "Bro, nothing. She be tripping for no reason. With the way she be acting, you would've thought I cheated on her slow ass."
Dougie listened to Kay complain about his girlfriend until he received another message from Kayla. "Oh nah...Kay said, oh that's Flock? Bet! I was working on his shit but now I'm bout to delete that shit worda bro."
Kay shook his head and yelled up at her window again. "Chill!" He didn't think she would delete his music video but he didn't know what kind of mood she was in. Like him, she tended to overreact when angry or even just annoyed.
Kay turned back around to see Dougie scurrying away. "Where you going?"
"Nigga, that's our video. She not bout to delete my shit because of you and your girl," Dougie replied before disappearing into her building.
Kay stood outside on the block for a few more minutes by himself, irritated, annoyed, and also bored since he refused to turn his phone back on. Kay pushed himself off of the wall he was leaning against and decided to join Dougie and Kayla upstairs. He knew that if Alexis was aware of him being in Kayla's apartment, she would lose her mind. For him, that was all the more reason to do it.
