Aiden hated socialising. And as far as he knew, Aru hated it too.

But now, seeing her smiling at everyone and talking, he thought 'You really have changed.'

He smiled. He adjusted his name card (which was just distributed to them)

"Is that the guy you talked about?" Aru asked. She gestured toward the guy he bumped into earlier.

"Yeah."

"His name's Drew, idiot," She rolled her eyes. "I didn't know you were that bad at remembering names. How'd you get confused with Drew and fucking David?"

"Well," He defended. "I just-ugh I don't know. I was too caught up in looking for you so I wasn't listening."

"Don't blame this on me. You have such a bad memory," She rolled her eyes. "Let's go talk to him."

"Hell no," Aiden shook his head. "What if he finds out I called him David."

"No one cares, Snob."

"I do!"

"No one cares," She repeated more slowly. He hated to admit it, but it did calm him down.

"Fine. If he says something I'm blaming it on-"

"Okay, whatever!" Aru cried out and started walking toward Sharmister Academy's table. Another girl- Delilah, her name card red, sat across from Dav- Drew.

Delilah got up and waved. "Hi! I'm Delilah, obviously."

Aru smiled, a bit taken aback. "Hi, Delilah Obviously. I'm Aru. Call me Aru. Not Shah or anything."

She threw a glare his way and Aiden felt it like a slap in the face.

Well, ouch.

"Cool, cool," Then Delilah looked at Drew pointedly.

"Oh. Yeah," Drew cleared his throat. "Uh. I'm Drew. Drew Reddy. My sister goes to your school?"

The last name rang in his mind, but before he could say it, Aru beat him to it.

"Your sister's Arielle?" She asked, her mouth agape.

"Unfortunately," He nodded. "Trust me, I hate her as much as you guys do."

"You guys are in different schools?"

"We were in the same school until 10th. Then, I got a scholarship for Sharmister Academy and Augustus Day. She only got one for Augustus Day. This was a win for me, since I could choose one and have the possibility to not be in the same school as her.

"My parents tried to persuade me to be in the same school as her, to protect her as they put it. But I refused. Arielle and I...we're like two different poles of a magnet. We were fine on the same magnet, but the second we were separated? We couldn't connect. And that was the best for both of us."

As he finished his story, Aru's lips tipped up in a smile. "Well. Okay, I like you. Let's be friends."

As they shook hands, Aiden was almost confused. People could become friends that quickly?

"I win, Delilah," Drew sang. "Me and her became friends first ~"

Delilah seemed to be fuming inside, but it didn't show on her face.

"You win?" Aru questioned.

"This girl's been a fan of you since you walked in," Drew explained, dodging an attack from Delilah. "She went 'OMG! I love her-"

He said the last part in a higher pitch, as if he was imitating her. Aru watched in amusement and then she elbowed him.

"You see?" Aru said. "Socialising gets you places."

"You're the one who socialised."

"But if you didn't come along, you would've missed this."

Delilah sat down, annoyed. "Don't listen to this guy. All I said was that you looked pretty. He's exaggerating."

"Oh, I don't know. It sure seemed like what I said."

"Let me be lesbian in peace." She said.

"Is this the part where I leave?" Aru said nervously. "It sure sounds like the conversation's about me and I don't like it."

"Who won the battle?" Drew asked. "Who actually became friends with you first."

"Ugh, fans," Aru joked. "How hard it is to have fans."

She cast an apologetic glance at Delilah. "Sorry. Drew won."

Delilah rolled her eyes and Drew smirked.

"Okay, I'm leaving this guy with you," Aru said, gesturing to Aiden. His eyes widened. "Babysit him."

"I thought I was your supervisor," He said. "That was the deal."

"All good," Drew nodded. "Sit here, man. Let's get to know each other."

"I'm scared."

"See ya."

Then Aru left him all alone. Again.
