"Something's wrong," Aiden concluded.

Aru looked up from her notebook. "What?"

"Something's wrong."

"Who are you, Spider-Man?"

"Shah, are you okay?"

Her eyes went blank. A sign she was covering something up.

"Perfectly fine. Why?"

"You keep zoning out. What did I say before that?"

"You had an idea."

"What was the idea?"

"Uh. Psychology?" Aru asked.

"That was the first part of what I said. What did I say after that?"

Aru sighed. "Fine. Sorry."

"That isn't the point here," Aiden said, looking at her fiddling with her pen. "You aren't gonna focus if you keep having that on your mind. What happened?"

"Nothing," She said. And before he could say anything else, she added, "Leave it. Please."

Aiden hummed and then looked back at his notes. "I don't mind not knowing. I just need you to listen. I slept on it and thought it over."

"I'm thinking we write about nightmares and insomnia."

Aru spit out some of her drink. She regained composure and wiped her mouth with a tissue.

Aiden's eyes narrowed. "You sure you don't wanna talk about it? Having sleep problems or something?"

"Nope, go ahead."

"Yeah. Anyway, she starts hallucinating flashbacks-"

Aru got up suddenly. "I'll get a refill of my drink."

"Could you wait until I'm done?"

"Fine."

"Flashbacks of people she's lost. Story continues."

Aru thought it over when he was done. "We could give her friends. What's a story without an awesome main gang?"

"Sure," Aiden noted. Then suddenly, Aru snapped her fingers.

"I got it! The main gang can be ghosts too. Ghosts she doesn't know."

"Then she can wake up in the hospital with an entirely new name and then...?"

"The doctor looks at her weirdly and then..." Aru paused for dramatic effects and then stage-whispered, "The people you've met...they've died in this very place."

"Okay."

Aru rolled her eyes. "That's all you say to my awesome idea? Seriously?"

"This could make a great short story," Aiden offered. Aru nodded.

Then she almost zoned out.

"Let's go get ice cream," Aiden said suddenly.

"Hm?"

"Ice cream. Come on."

"Uh"

"This is my treat," Aiden said. Aru looked at him, annoyed.

"I can't even say anything because you called it first."

"It's the rule," He agreed.

"Haven't we broken all of those rules though?"

"Meh."

This time, the silence was comforting.
