"I didn't know there is this kind of document."

Karishma takes a pen from her scrub pocket and signs her name on the paper that is brought by Zoe. Haseena has already signed it and now it is her turn to put her name right by hers. Zoe's eyes seem to wander a bit as they are taking care of their personal business at the nurses' station.

"There isn't." Zoe's eyes travel back to Karishma who is putting her pen away and handing the paper back to her. "But..."

"It's Mira." They harmonize.

"Let's just hope that we don't have to use it." Karishma watches Zoe putting the legal guardian paper back into her briefcase. "And Danielle is upstairs; doing ICU rotation."

"I am not looking for her." Zoe scoffs and rushes to pack her things. Now that she knows where her girl is, she feels like a surprised visit might be proper.

"Yo." Kevin walks though the automatic door and announces his presence loud enough to get more attention than he needs. "Greeting, doctor."

"Detective." Karishma responds to the unusual greeting as Kevin approaches them. His collar has some sort of a noticeable stain that almost looks like blood but he wears such a casual expression on like it is nothing.

"Lawyer." Kevin stops at the girls and leans on the counter. His visit has a hidden agenda and he intends to keep it hidden until the big reveal time.

"You have blood on your collar." Zoe points out.

"Oh." He exclaims and looks down at his own collar that pokes out of his sweater. He wipes it a couple times; just to acknowledge its presence. "Don't worry. It's not mine."

"Okay." Karishma responds with her puzzled look. "Should we be worried about the owner... of that blood?"

"No. He is fine. Hopefully." Kevin responds and makes a sudden movement that catches the girls off their guards. "Oh! My partner drove me here because I've got a cut right here."

Kevin bends down his neck and points aimlessly at the side of his neck; somewhere in his short hair. He acts like he feels no pain but with the size of the wound, Karishma hopes he is only a very good actor; not some sort of a robot.

"Ok." Zoe immediately steps back as soon as she sees the long deep cut on Kevin's hairline at the back of his neck. Although she has seen some severe wounds in her lifetime, most of them are pictures in her textbooks. The real deal is too real for her. "That's my cue to leave."

"The elevator is that way." Karishma points to the swing door that leads to the elevator. "Third floor."

"I'm not looking for Danielle." Zoe insists as she rushes her way away from Karishma who is chuckling amusingly. Her direction is no other than towards that swing door to the elevator. "And this is your cue to stitch that up, detective."

"Thank you." Kevin mumbles as he bends his neck towards for Karishma to treat the cut behind him. The pain was about to kick in when the anesthetic has started its run through his system.

"I'm just doing my job." Karishma's eyes focus on each stitch she makes on that long deep wound while her mouth saying the words. "Thank you for doing yours."

"I mean other things too. I mean. Haseena has a good soul. Thank you for... you know... not leaving her after all the bullshit her dad pulled."

Karishma chuckles lightly with a smile. "Don't worry, Kev. I'm not leaving her."
"Yeah. I know. It's just..."

"What did Haseena tell you?" Karishma asks after a long pause Kevin takes. Kevin is giving out the vibe that there is more to it than what he has said.
